Tunog Natin: An All-OPM Concert

Don't you just miss listening to those song that truly say what's in your heart? The melodies, the rhythm and the lyrics that lets you express how Filipino you are?

Last June 15 was a night for OPM artists to prove to each and everyone that despite of its nearing downfall, OPM songs are still here and will always be here because OPM is Tunog Natin.

Spearheaded by Avida Land Corporation, a leading real estate company, together with the launch of their latest condominium project in San Lorenzo, Makati, a free-concert was held to help revive the Filipino audience's interest to our homegrown artists and locally-produced records.

Shell Eco-Marathon 2011 Simulation Run

I was invited to check out Batangas Racing Circuit early this month to see the seven vehicles that Pilipinas Shell will be sending to the 2011 Shell Eco-Marathon Asia at Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia this coming July. Little do I know, I will not just see seven awesome student-made vehicles but rather camaraderie and talent that these young Pinoys have.

And with that, let me say that  I'm really proud to be a Pinoy.

Freeway presents F. Sionil Jose

I've been attending awesome events for these past years, and lately I've been to events that I think stood out from the others. One of those events that I've attended lately that really inspired me as a whole was the Freeway Art's National Artist Collector's Series presentation. 

And on this event, spotlights were on for our National Artist for Literature F. Sionil Jose.

I'd be honest about this, it was my first time meet this man, and even though I'm kinda aware of his great works, I haven't read any of them completely. And so, attending this event was kinda an eye-opener to me, too.

Holiday Monday at G's Spa Place of Wellness

Last Monday, since it was a holiday, I made myself available for the invitation of my friend Ruth to check out this new piece of heaven down in the south of Metro Manila. Three minutes away from Nuvali, G's Spa offers a unique Asian relaxation that you could have imagine. AND, YES, I ENJOYED MY HOLIDAY!

In less than an hour from Manila, we reached G' Spa in the very quiet subdivision of South Forbes Golf City. Located on the third floor of Leticia Tower, one good thing about this place being located on the third level is the peaceful scenery of its subdivision.

Cirque Du Soleil's Varekai takes Manila by Storm!

Typhoon Falcon's rain wasn't strong enough to stop excited circus lovers as they all gathered around the Grand Chapiteau (Big Top) for the first show of world-renowned circus group, Cirque du Soleil.

Varekai, which means "wherever" in the Romany language of the gypsies, will surely be the word for this month and the following month as this month-long show gives delight, excitement and colors to Manila City.

I had a chance to catch one of the summer's hottest event, and with people all jumping and thumping to the great music of international DJs, our fellow Pinoy showcased their all-star talents with the latest apparels and shoes from Converse for their this year's Block Party.

From face painting to wonderful house music, to games, street dancing, skateboarding and even up to shopping, Converse's 2011 Block Party made everyone's day filled with amazing and very cool surprises.

Varekai: Mark you Calendars!

When I went to Luneta last Sunday to see the program and the parade for the 113th Philippine Independence Day, one huge sign caught my attention just before I reach Quirino Grandstand... 

And I can't help but to get excited!

Next week, be ready to be surprised as the the world-renowned circus artists come and perform here in Manila for the first time with their show Varekai.

Since I have a new camera - a Nikon D3100 - and I named it Ne-Yo, I took him out to stroll  and see the celebration of the 113th Philippine Independence Day at the Quirino Grand Stand in Luneta last June 12.

Believe it or not, for almost 28th years of my existence here in Manila, last Sunday was my first time to see the country's celebration of independence day at Luneta. Hhihi. I'm not really expecting any grand celebration since I think the government is more on promoting the 150th Birthday Celebration of Dr. Jose Rizal, but nonetheless, I had a great time taking snapshots of the things happening in and around Luneta. And also I had a great time trying my first DSLR. ^_^
