FILA and Athletes in Action to help Iligan City

FILA, a leading shoe brand in the world, and Athletes in Action (AIA) join forces to bring the biggest advocacy run to help raise funds for the rehabilitation of classrooms in Iligan City, which were badly hit by Typhoon Sendong back in 2011.

Education plays a vital role in our lives. It is one thing that we should or we must have for it is part of every man's right. And now, as the crazy world continues to revolve, we’re all challenged to take part in solving this problem. Thank goodness that as of now, there are 15,000 runners who already signed up and are whole-heartily up for this project.

Dubbed as Schools Run for School Rooms (SRSR) marathon, this project will be gathering student-runners from major colleges and universities, to bring a glimmer of hope to Iligan city, where eager students have to do with makeshift classrooms as the school year starts.

Happening on July 7, 2012 at Bonifacio Global City, SRSR has three categories, the 3K, 5K and 10K runs. There'll be three winners from every categories and all of them will receive some sweet gifts from this run's sponsors.

The registration was opened last May 15 and they will accept participants til  the 30th of June. One good thing about this run is participants can register through SM Tickets at www.smtickets.com. You can also call Huper International at (02) 6619489 or GWorld at (02) 7190184. While singlets and race bibs can be claimed at Fila Stores in Metro Manila.

Since 1911, FILA is big on corporate social responsibility. At the recently concluded 2012 FILA Polo Cup, project “500 for 500” was launched by FILA President Butch Albert to help Typhoon Sendong victims by donating 500 pesos to 500 families for every purchase of Skele-Toes, FILA’s latest line of revolutionary active footwear.

For more information or if you have queries, you can follow FILA on Twitter (@filamanila) or be a fan on Facebook (FILAPhilippines).

Through helping, we can solve this country's problems one step at a time. See you there!
