BPI is only bank among Philippines’ Best Workplaces 2026

The Bank of the Philippine Islands (BPI) has been recognized as one of the Best Workplaces™ in the Philippines 2026 by Great Place to Work, emerging as the only bank in the country to be included in this year’s list.

The recognition places BPI alongside leading organizations across industries and ahead of global financial institutions such as Visa and American Express, as well as key local institutions including the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas. This reflects BPI’s strong people-first culture in a highly competitive landscape.

Based on employee feedback on trust and workplace experience, the results affirm what BPI’s people already feel. In its most recent internal survey, 94% of employees said they are proud to tell others they work at BPI, while 88% consider the Bank a great place to work.

“At BPI, we believe that when people feel valued and supported, they are empowered to do their best work,” said Gina Eala, Chief Human Resources Officer of BPI. “This recognition reflects the everyday experiences of our employees and affirms our commitment to building a workplace where everyone can grow and thrive.”

With over 22,000 employees nationwide, BPI continues to invest in a workplace culture centered on growth, well-being, and meaningful work. Through its MORE in BPI employee value proposition, the Bank supports its people across every stage of their journey with flexible work arrangements, inclusive benefits, and continuous learning opportunities.

This people-first approach is reflected in the Bank’s strong engagement scores, including a 95% employee engagement rate, demonstrating how a high-trust workplace drives both employee satisfaction and business performance.

Beyond traditional benefits, BPI continues to strengthen its support systems for employees through its BPI Well framework, which integrates physical, mental, financial, and social well-being. This includes dedicated support during critical life moments through initiatives such as the Cancer Care Leave Program, which provides paid leave for employees undergoing treatment, and the Leave Donation Program, which enables Unibankers to support colleagues facing serious illnesses. These are complemented by comprehensive medical coverage for employees and their families, access to mental health services through MindYou, and financial assistance programs, ensuring that employees are cared for not only in times of need, but in their day-to-day well-being.

As Southeast Asia’s longest operating bank, BPI remains committed to building a workplace where employees feel valued and connected to a shared purpose. Being named one of the Best Workplaces in the Philippines, and the only bank to do so this year, underscores BPI’s belief that building a better organization begins with its people.
