The 2013 Elan Awards: Vote Now!
The search for the modern Filipino gentleman is on as McJIMM Classic Leather officially announces the names of 12 finalists for the very first Elan Awards: The Search for the Modern Filipino Gentleman at Sequoia Hotel, Quezon City last June 17.
Out of about a hundred eligible names that came up for the said prestigious title, only 12 were chosen by the panel of judges composed of society columnist Tim Yap; actor and top male model Victor Basa; and radio and TV personality Sam YG.
In a press conference, which is led by McJIM Classic Leather project manager, Chris Cahilig shared to us that the three criteria for the 2013 Elan Awards are Elegance of Style, Manners and Etiquette, and Accomplishment. He added that each of these 12 Elan Awards finalists is a role model for every Pinoy to be successful, stylish and elegant in our manner of dress, grooming, accomplishments, etiquette, and overall lifestyle - aside for being distinctly and proudly Filipino.
Celebrities including singers, athletes, actors, businessmen, and a politician are among the top 12 finalists, and McJIMM Classic Leather is happy to tell that these 12 deserving finalists have been chosen by their esteemed panel of judges.
And so, without further ado, the top 12 finalists for the 2013 Elan Awards are: Senator-elect Sonny Angara; Asia’s Pop Idol and Romantic Balladeer Christian Bautista; actor and director Dingdong Dantes; celebrity food blogger Erwan Heussaff; TV and movie actor Xian Lim; Philippine's Indie King Coco Martin; actor and producer Piolo Pascual; Big Band Crooner and businessman Richard Poon; actor and fitness enthusiast Derek Ramsay; award-winning actor and singer Jericho Rosales; professional basketball athlete, businessman, and TV host Chris Tiu; and Philippine AZKALS member Phil Younghusband.

The 2013 Elan Awards is being given by popular leather brand McJIM to the best male role models for style and elegance among today’s Filipino gentlemen. The finalists were chosen from a list of entertainment, fashion, sports, music, and public service personalities nominated by Facebook users at the McJIM Classic Leather Official Facebook Fan Page.
Nominees were chosen by the public via popularity contest conducted through the McJIM Classic Leather Official Facebook Fan Page. And all Facebook users in the Philippines and overseas are eligible to participate in the poll.
So, now that the 12 finalists are announced, Facebook users are encourage to go to the McJIM Classic Leather Official Facebook Fan Page and then vote for their gentleman based on the three criteria. Voting was opened last Monday, June 17 and will last until August 2, 2013. The finalist with the most number of votes will be proclaimed Grand Winner of the 2013 Elan Awards.
The Grand Winner of the 2013 Elan Awards will receive a designer trophy; Php100,000 in cash for himself; another Php100,000 to be given to a charity of his choice; and one-year supply of McJIM products. As for the nine finalists will receive plaques of appreciation and a six-month supply of McJIM products.
So, if you think you are don voting, well, not really! It's time to vote for you ideal gentleman, and who knows every man around will be like him someday, right?
