PLDT and Smart Hail Teachers at Gabay Guro 2011
It's that time of the year again for our beloved teachers to celebrate and received the much-deserve love from us. And now, with another year of PLDT-Smart Foundation's Gabay Guro, I'm sure that they'll receive that love, attention and makeover that they needed to be a better role model to our future generations.
This is my second time to attend the Gabay Guro celebration, and despite of the anticipated huge number of teachers, I know that I'll be happy seeing them singing and dancing along.
Held at the Music Hall of SM Mall of Asia, hundreds of teachers from different parts of the country gathered for this yearly celebration prepared and served just for the noble people of this nation.
And this year, this PLDT-Smart treats level up with more exciting and knowledge-enhancing offers for our teachers. There's the Training Program where thousands of teachers underwent the English Proficiency, Computer Literacy and Creative Teaching Techniques seminars. There's also the Scholarship Program where 400 scholarships were awarded to deserving teachers to master their crafts. Then there's also the Livelihood Program where they taught the teachers to augment their income. On this program, teachers and their family underwent a training where they learned to become sales agents for PLDT and Smart products. In Broadbanding Program, Gabay Guro provides computers and broadband connection to schools for an up-to-date teaching techniques and learning. And lastly, Gabay Guro wants our teachers and their family to have a stable life, so they also have this Housing Program where it gave access to housing need and affordable rates for teachers and their families per area.
During the program, teachers were also treated to lots of cool activities such as free makeover, free hair consultation and treatment, free eye-checkup and more.
I got to witness it all and based from their looks and smiles, I can say that they all had a great time.
Mother Ricky Reyes, one of the fairy godmothers of this event, also graced the event and shared some beauty tips to our male and female teachers. Then, he also picked up some lucky female teachers to receive an awesome whole makeover from the Gandang Ricky Reyes Team.
After some few minutes, everyone was shocked as how the teachers turned out to be - BONGGA!
We all witnessed the transformation, and with that, a beauty award is just rightful. But before that major, major announcement, Gabay Guro supporter, Derek Ramsey also made our teachers' day more lovely. And together with Miss Earth Philippines 2011 Athena Mae Imperial, male teachers had a chance to swoon over the beauty of this young gal from Aurora Province.
And the moment we waited for came, with more than 20 teachers all dressed up and experienced the magical touch of Mother Ricky Reyes, one teacher shone brightest. And just what the hosts said, the teacher who won and will take home some lovely prizes, including a brand new SONY VAIO laptop is none other than the Eugene Domingo of the day, Teacher Madonna "Doinx" Castro Gonzales of Philippines Normal University - Isabela Campus!
Congratulations, Ma'am Doinx! You deserve it! ^_^
