My First Hot Air Balloon Festival Experience

Despite of just having a three-hour sleep, I woke up at 7 in the morning, prepared my self and my stuff to meet my super friends for our 9 a.m. trip to Clark, Pampangga.

Read my travel blog about the 16th Philippine International Hot Air Ballon Festival.

It was an hour and a half travel from Manila to Pampangga, so I somehow had some good sleep inside the bus.

We met Miss Kankan at the main gate of the event who gave us some free tickets, but before we headed inside the event venue, we went first to El Kabayo where we had lunch. My friend Me-An had been saying a lot of good stuff about this place, so without any hesitations, we went there and enjoy the Western ambiance of the place.

In all fairness, the place looks good and really inviting. Unfortunately, their service was not.

Read my food review at lafanggero.blogspot.com.

After some hours of dining there, we took some walking around the place and finally hailed a jeepney back to the Hot Air Balloon Festival venue.

The event place was, I think, well-organized. We got in so quick, and didn’t waste any time. We headed first to the booths on the right side of the field where we saw souvenir shops and some fun booths that give out free stuff.

On the left side, we saw some more souvenir shops, were we bought these very cute hot air balloon miniatures. Really, really cute!

I’d say that we enjoyed camwhoring with these colourful mini hot air balloons. LOL.

After that, we placed our mats on the field and enjoyed the flying objects that were airing that time.

Philippine pilots were so great, I mean, really awesome! The stunts were all fantastic!
They brought back the “I wanna be a pilot” dream I had when I was a kid. Hehehe.

By 5 p.m., the real hot air balloons started filling our views with their spectacular color and sizes. From afar, I can feel the heat, but this heat made me feel so excited – thrilled!

And despite of the bad air condition that afternoon, the balloonists were able to put up all the 12 magnificent hot air balloons and made the whole crowd really, really happy!

It was a fulfilling day for me and my friends. We really had a great time!
This is one festival that I would love to see every year starting now.

Our day ended with a relaxing dinner at Café Mesa at Mimosa, with our other friend, Ada, who picked us up at Clark Field and drove us back to Manila. Thank you, Ada!

Thank you to Miss Kankan, Sir Laszlo, guys and gals behind the successful 16th Hot Air Balloon Festival and to my super supportive super friends! Love, love, love!

Oh, my bad, we are now super android friends, since we are all using android phones. Hekhekhek. :D

More years to come to Hot Air Balloon Festival!
See you again next year! :-D
