Raw, Reflective, Dizzy: KeNN Lays It Bare on First EP “From Miseducation”

KeNN lays it all bare on his first EP “From Miseducation”, an eight-track collection that fuses raw emotion with his signature sonic sensibility.

The singer-songwriter’s debut EP doubles as both an introduction and a statement of intent, featuring two new songs and a freshly reworked acoustic track that showcase him at his most instinctive – raw, reflective, and shaped by the sounds that raised him.

At its core, “From Miseducation” reframes the idea of “miseducation”. Raised in a culture-rich environment that didn’t always fit the mold, and immersed in music from an early age, KeNN leans into the idea that what’s often labelled as “miseducation” can become something meaningful when filtered through lived experience. The title nods to The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill – a formative record in his childhood, played by his DJ parents – anchoring the project in a lineage of emotional honesty and genre fluidity.

Leading the EP is “Memai”, a shimmering upbeat track that captures the rush of love at its most disorienting. Driven by a bright, fast-moving arrangement, the song mirrors that sense of emotional “dizziness,” constantly in motion and just out of reach. Arranged by Young_Vibe and MON/KU, who are key contributors across the EP, the track finds a balance between euphoria and instability, while its music video, directed by Takuya Setomitsu, leans into a hazy, dreamlike romance where reality begins to blur.

Towards the end of the EP, KeNN strips things back. “sad dance” offers a restrained, all-Japanese ballad that leans into quiet emotional weight, while “One in α million (Acoustic)” spotlights KeNN’s live-oriented, singer-songwriter core, a side he’s honed onstage since his debut.

With “From Miseducation”, KeNN isn’t just reflecting on where he came from — he’s expanding it, revealing the full range of what he can bring from record to stage.
