Strengthening the Future of Philippine Volleyball as TLG and OMNI unites to launch National Grassroots Volleyball League (NGVL)

In an effort to shape up the next generation of Filipino volleyball talent, The Lighthouse Group (TLG) has enlisted support from OMNI Electrical & Lighting to launch the National Grassroots Volleyball League (NGVL) — a nationwide developmental volleyball conference for girls under 16 years old.

The collaboration marks a significant step toward strengthening grassroots volleyball development across the Philippines.

With volleyball experiencing unprecedented popularity across the Philippines, the NGVL aims to fill a long-standing gap in accessible, community-level training and competition. Established by TLG, the program targets to identify and develop promising young athletes through tournaments across local, regional and national stages. 

The league will work in partnership with officials and referees from the Philippine National Volleyball Federation (PNVF) to ensure legitimacy, and competitive structure.
“We, at NGVL, are committed to growing volleyball in the Philippines, starting at the most basic, at the same time, what we believe is the most meaningful of sectors, which is at the community level. We’re setting the play and rallying the entire nation towards our dream of growing Philippine volleyball, one grassroots player at a time,” said NGVL President Yvette Katigbak-Ambrocio.

The inaugural 2026 NGVL season will run from February to April 2026, with plans to expand into more age groups for both girls and boys.
