Healthier Rides Ahead: inDrive Supports DOH’s Smoke- and Vape-Free Campaign

As part of the Department of Health’s (DOH) 100% smoke-and-vape -free rides initiatives, global ride-hailing app inDrive is taking a proactive step to promote wellness on the road. Working alongside the DOH, the Department of Transportation (DOTr), the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB), and other transport network vehicle service (TNVS) players, inDrive is helping to promote smoke-and-vape-free commuting through both digital and on-ground efforts.

At the heart of inDrive’s participation is the rollout of an in-app pop-up reminder, visible to both drivers and passengers. The feature serves as a timely prompt to observe smoke- and vape-free trips—reinforcing the brand’s advocacy for responsible mobility and public health.

“As a TNVS provider, it is our duty to protect our partner drivers and passengers, and this includes their overall health and wellbeing,” said Sofia Guinto, InDrive Philippines Business Development Head.  “Kaya buo ang pagsuporta namin sa programa na ito upang matiyak na makaranas sila ng tunay na biyaheng ligtas at protektado.”

She added, “Ang ganitong mga partnerships sa pagitan ng gobyerno at mga TNVS companies ay patunay na kaya nating gumawa ng pagbabago para sa ikabubuti ng kalusugan ng lahat ng mga Pilipino. Nawa’y ito ang maging simula ng mas marami pang programang maglalayon ng mas malinis at ligtas na biyahe.”

To further amplify its participation in the nationwide initiative, inDrive is set to introduce on-ground activations aimed at engaging its driver community and the public.

InDrive will hold a Smoke-Free Byahe Caravan across key cities to distribute advocacy decals, health kits, and educational materials for drivers. This initiative supports the DOH’s smoke- and vape-free rides campaign and aligns with inDrive’s broader #inDriveLigtasBiyahe advocacy, which promotes safe, responsible, and health-conscious commuting.

“We appreciate inDrive’s active participation in promoting smoke- and vape-free rides,” said Dr. Lester M. Tan, Regional Director of the DOH Metro Manila Center for Health Development. “When private sector partners like inDrive join our advocacy, it helps us reach more people and inspire everyday choices that lead to healthier communities. We look forward to building on this partnership through more initiatives that champion wellness on the road.”
