KARANOAH steps up with A.S.A.B for their first major-label single “rei レイ”

Tokyo-based rock trio KARANOAH has entered a new era, making their major-label debut under Avex’s A.S.A.B with the release of “rei レイ”. Already known for their raw emotion and genre-blurring sound, the band now raises the stakes with a single that captures both their restless spirit and their evolution as one of Japan’s most promising next-generation acts.

rei レイ” draws on childhood memories and lived experiences, fusing urgent rock energy with an emotional, bittersweet melody. Its abstract lyrics evoke chasing the faint ghosts of the past, while explosive hooks pull listeners into a cathartic surge — a sound that feels both deeply personal and powerfully universal.

The music video, directed by Asaka Kishida, immerses viewers in a dystopian city where despair is the norm, until a dream encounter with “you” rekindles a fragile but radiant hope. Crafted entirely with motion graphics, collage, and animation, the video mirrors the song’s abstract emotional landscape in stunning visual form.

With “rei レイ”, KARANOAH signals more than just a major-label debut — it’s a declaration of intent. Fierce yet fragile, explosive yet introspective, the single captures the contradictions that define the band’s sound and vision.
