Cinemalaya Film Market Explores Possibilities and Trends In The Philippine Film Industry

Engage with filmmakers and other industry leaders at the Cinemalaya Bente: loob, Lalim, Lakas, happening until August 11, at the Ayala Malls Manila Bay Japan Town. 

Now in its 20th year, Cinemalaya has always included educational components and other engagements to explore and develop the Philippine film industry to new heights, and help in national development through the Film Market. 

Aside from business-to-business engagement and exchanges, the Film Market holds book launches, forums and talks on emerging cinematic trends, new issues on filmmaking, and possibilities. 
 
Hersed Arce and Cinemalaya Alumni Real Florido talk about how to market films on August 3 at 3:00PM.
 
Producers Lawrence Fajardo and Krisma Fajardo, the creators behind Cinemalaya Benter competing film The Hearing, share how to produce films on a shoe-string budget on August 4 at 3:00PM.
 
On August 5, at 3:00PM, SCOULA’s Cyril Bautista explains Virtual Reality and Immersive Film Production. At 4:30PM, Philip Cheah will be launching his books When East Meets East. 
 
Explore the opportunity Gawad Alternatibo creates for filmmakers who want to enter Cinemalaya with inputs from Ms. Mae Caralde of CCP’s Film Division on August 6, at 3:00PM.
 
GMA Journalist Howie Severino tackles the importance of documentaries and truthful storytelling on August 7,  2:00PM.
 
Together with Japan Foundation, cross-cultural stories about Philippine-Japan Co-production will be discussed by DitO’s Yuki Takashi, Kono Basho’s Jaime Pacena III, and Japan Foundation’s Ben Suzuki on August 8, 3:00PM.
