Japanese Rock Band I Don’t Like Mondays. Releases New Song ‘Lonely Dancers’

Currently celebrating their 10th anniversary, Japanese four-piece rock band I Don’t Like Mondays. have released their second new song of 2024, ‘Lonely Dancers’. A music video is also out now.

As you’d expect from I Don’t Like Mondays. – known as IDLMs. to their fans – the new song combines a band sound with electronic beats, resulting in a cool dance-pop tune with a dark, mysterious sound and an exciting kinetic energy. The song takes a different approach from their previous release, ‘New York, New York’, which had more of a full-on UK rock band sound – showcasing the group’s wide-ranging talent for fusing a variety of musical genres.

For the first time in quite a while, the accompanying music video features all four members of the band, as they give blistering performances in a minimalist space. The video was directed by OFBYFOR TOKYO, the collective that has worked on several IDLMs. projects over the past year or so. The video embodies the band’s unique vibe, which sets them apart from other artists from Japan.
 
As part of their 10th anniversary celebrations, IDLMs. are not only releasing new music, but touring as well. In late April, they completed their Island Tour headline tour, with shows in 13 cities around Japan within just one month. Next, in fall 2024, they will perform eight cities across Japan, as well as their first ever tour of Asia.
