Sarah Barrios Reveals Her Vulnerable "Reality"

Acclaimed singer-songwriter Sarah Barrios releases her new single “Reality”. Her first official release since April 2022, the stunning piano-led ballad unveils a never-before-seen unmasked side of the Los Angeles-based artist.

Through haunting songwriting, Sarah conveys the feelings of isolation she experienced during a particularly difficult period of her own emotional and mental health. She reflects, “I wrote this song during a time when my disassociation and depression were at an all-time high. The world around me looked empty, dark and strange and I felt like I was the only one who noticed.”

Accompanied only by driving piano chords, her voice and lyricism shine through entirely unencumbered on the recording. A resolute degree of vulnerability and openness speaks to her fragility during this time. “I wanted to try and depict what it feels like to fall down the rabbit hole alone,” she continues.

“Reality” was produced and co-written by Wyatt Sanders, who previously collaborated on Sarah’s songs “Mourn the Living” and “I H8 EVERY1” which connected with an audience on TikTok where videos using the song have reached over 3 million views and ultimately led to its full release after the viral response.

Sarah Barrios is a breath of fresh air with her unapologetically sweet voice, infectious melodies, and playful pop musicality. A proud reading and fantasy enthusiast, her approach is akin to that of writing a novel. Weaving together stories with raw human emotion, Sarah wins her audience at first listen with a textured experience of imagery and color. Influenced by an intelligently diverse spectrum ranging from Jane Austen to Sci-Fi books, The Beatles and Fleetwood Mac to Jon Bellion and Paramore, Sarah’s music evokes both nostalgia and anticipation for the future.

After years of songwriting with the likes of Zara Larsson, Alec Benjamin, Why Don’t We, Rita Ora, accruing over 80 million streams and collecting a nomination for TikTok Songwriter of the Year at the 2022 iHeartRadio Music Awards, Sarah is set to expand her horizons and her growing fanbase in Asia. She has previously collaborated with global superstar Eric Nam for hit song "Have We Met Before" and Filipino pop artist Syd Hartha on the reflective number "All My Sins".

Now, Asian territories dominate her Top 10 Streaming Markets which include #1 Malaysia, #2 Indonesia, #3 India, #5 Philippines, #6 Taiwan, #9 Vietnam, #10 Thailand.
