Grammy-Nominated Band Alt-J Reveal Highly-Anticipated Album 'The Dream'
Mercury Prize-winning, chart-topping band alt-J have
released their new album 'The Dream' which is out now via Infectious
Music/BMG. 'The Dream' has received praise from international
media outlets such as NME and Rolling Stone UK, alongside features
across Southeast Asia, including Nylon Manila, The Jakarta Post, MTV Asia and
more.
'The Dream' is an album where true-crime
inspired stories and tales of Hollywood and the Chateau Marmont rub shoulders
with some of the band’s more personal moments to-date. Both beauty and darkness
lay side-by-side - often seamlessly merging on the same track, a
purposeful choice that pays dividends across the record. The band’s dazzling
instrumentation has matured; there are still far out moments, but now they are
deployed with an artful precision.
Last week, the band released the new track, “The Actor”, a song inspired by 1980s Hollywood. The track follows “Hard Drive Gold”, which is riding high on the A-List at BBC 6 Music, and stirring album centre-piece,“Get Better”. 'The Dream' was announced in 2021 alongside the release of “U&ME”, an inspired snapshot of the band’s experiences at summer festivals in Australia.
The band has established a sizeable and loyal fanbase in Asia, having previously helmed the main stages of the region's biggest festivals, including We the Fest (Indonesia), Laneway Festival (Singapore) and Good Vibes Festival (Malaysia).
'The Dream' is now available on CD and vinyl. There will also be a limited-edition hardback book CD that reproduces the notebook Joe Newman used to write 'The Dream' featuring his original handwritten lyrics and drawings. The official artist store includes merchandise bundles with signed print and exclusive cassette and vinyl formats.
