Christmas with Disney's Princesses

Christmas in the Philippines is always special, no matter how much or how less we have, we, Filipinos, always find a reason to celebrate this blessed day. And this year, I was blessed to see and experience the show I've been dying to see for  a very long time - the Disney On Ice.

Together with my sister and her daughter, we welcomed the blessed day with some joy and magic in our mind as we witnessed Snow White and her 7 dwarfs, Cinderella and her Prince Charming, and Rapunzel and her magical hair at Smart-Araneta Coliseum for the Disney On Ice's Dare to Dream.

Me and my niece Elaisha

Being a fan of Walt Disney's fairy tales and having a niece who is starting to appreciate stories and different fictional characters, seeing them in person, alive and sliding on the man-made ice inside the coliseum is such a wonderful feeling and experience every kids and kids-at-heart should feel.

Goofy, Minnie Mouse, Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck

With Disney's castle as the back draft, the show was hosted by Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Donald Duck and Goofy. My niece knows Mickey and Minnie, it was such a delight to see her clapping with them with as she sees the four skating and interacting with the audience.

The Frog and Princess Tiana opened the show with an amazing musical number setting the ambiance of Smart-Araneta Coliseum in light and merry mood.

The Frog and Princess Tiana

Remember that dance-y jazz music, you'll love it more when you see them in this amazing choreography while gliding and sliding on ice. Though their costume was but simple that on the cartoons, you'll still enjoy this part because simply there's nothing not to love about Disney on Ice! It's like a small Disneyland!

Right after the short skit of the Frog and Princess Tiana, Mickey, Minnie, Goofy and Donald approached the skating rink to introduce the first story of the show - the colorful and nail-biting story of the fairest girl of them all, Snow White.

Snow White

One of my favorite Disney stories since I was a child, the show showcased not just the amazing talents of the ice-skater actors, but also the wonderful costume they made for all the characters. I love how they made it interactive to the audience. Some kids from the audience were asked to ride the cart that dwarfs are using and they were brought around the "stage" to see all the characters up-close.

After the "happily ever after" story of Snow White and the 7 Dwarfs, another amazing Disney story followed it. With her glittering shoes and cute and lovable pet animals, Cinderella and her evil step mother and step sisters entered the stage to keep the amazement of all kids and adults that day.

Cinderella

I thought Snow White was already magical, but when the ball at the castle played, oh, wow! I just love seeing some lads dress in these princess-y outfits! It felt like we were all at the ball.

The fluidity of the choreography, the sway of every costume, and the effect of the light brought that scene so memorable that I will have in my mind for a very long time.

And just like Snow White's story, Cinderella and her Prince Charming's story ended with a kiss leading to happily ever after and some glittery shoes. ^_^

Saving the best for last is the Tangled story of a stolen princess who was trapped in a tower, saved by a thief and reign a kingdom with shorter but fiercer hair. You know who am I talking about - Rapunzel!

Rapunzel

Compared to the amazing stunts showed by the first two Princes and Princesses, this of Flint and Rapunzel is far the most breath-taking and amazing! If you like the movie Tangled, you'll love how they almost made the movie into reality.

Aside from the amazing sliding and lifting, the spectacular flying or hanging stunt put every on their toes as we all watch our favorite princess hang on to what supposed to be her hair while singing her lines.

IT WAS AH-MAZING!
