Freeway x Lucio San Pedro: A Tribute Just in Time

To honor the man that greatly affected the course of Philippine music and culture, this fall season, Freeway is paying tribute to the man from Angono, Rizal - Maestro Lucio San Pedro. On this 9th installation of National Artist Collector's Series, Maestro Lucio's works inspired the latest collection of Freeway, which are now readily available at all Freeway and The Row stores.

Just in time for the celebration of Maestro Lucio San Pedro's 100th birthday, Freeway excitedly launched last May 28, at The Row, Glorietta, their fall collection, which is inspired by the greatness and music of the National Artists for Music. Stage, movie and TV actress Rachel Alejandro hosted the event and even rendered songs of love for all to feel the passion shared to us by the man who's distinct and nationalistic music transfuses from one generation to another.

I was there to witness it all, from the guests speakers - who were mostly sons and daughters of the late maestro, namely Kristy San Pedro Salita, Rhodora San Pedro delos Santos, Alberto delos Santos and Professor Gabby San Pedro Rojas, did a special interview with Rachel onstage.

We were also treated to a beautiful medley of songs prepared by high school students straight from Maestro Lucio’s hometown, the ARS Noveau Chorale of Angono Rizal Lead School for the Arts. They serenaded us with Maestro Lucio's hits such as Sa Mahal Kong Bayan, Piliin Mo ang Pilipinas, Kayumangging Malaya and Sa Ugoy ng Duyan

There was no fashion show that night, but the clothes that are part of this National Artist Collector's Series Maestro Lucio San Pedro are on display inside The Row where everyone got to see and feel. I must say that the shades of this latest collection are the love, especially the one worn by Rachel that night.

Freeway also honored the winners of the recently concluded Art Bag Design Contest, where winners got to take home home exciting gifts Their winning designs, Fiestas in the Philippines by Kevin Roque and Ang Huling Babaylan by Christine Sioco, are now available in Freeway stores nationwide.

Through enough to its commitment, Freeway's National Artist Collector's Series just keep getting better and better. And with the latest addition of this new collection inspired by Maestro Lucio San Pedro, there's more reason for you to love our own country, own kind/

Mabuhay kayo, Freeway! Mabuhay ka, Maestro Lucio San Pedro!
