Vin Abrenica and Sophie Albert top Artista Academy

After the grueling three months of intensive singing, dancing and acting classes and tests, TV5's Artista Academy has come to its finale. And as the reality of show business bites, the awarding of the grandest prize ever on Philippine television to the chosen Best Actor and one Best Actress unfolds at Smart-Araneta Coliseum last October 27.

Artista Academy Honor Students Vin Abrenica and Sophie Albert became the richest of all talent search winners in the country when they bagged the coveted titles of Best Actor and Best Actress, which came with P20 Million worth of total prizes, in the successful Artista Academy Awards Night.

The show started with an ultra energized number form the six honor students where they showcased their skills in both singing and dancing. Then it was followed by their solo acts making the whole Smart-Araneta Coliseum went wild.

I honestly think that Akihiro and Chanel's number topped on this final test. But still I must say that after seeing their solo acts, Vin, Sophie, Chanel, Aki, Shaira and Mark who gave their all-out best showed a lot of improvement in so many ways! It was like the best of the best of the talent search because we didn't only see some good looking aspirants but talented ones too!

Artista Academy also introduced that night the friends of the Honor Students, which are collectively called the Tropang Kick Out. Consisted of former Artista Academy students Malak, Stephanie, Marvelous, Chris, Benjo, Nicole, Brent and Jon, these guys and the top 6 student will be in TV5 latest show Forever Barkada. So, watch out for it!

The Tropang Kick Out were granted an exclusive management contracts with TV5 Talent Center that night too, which made the night more exciting!

It was also a shocking night to some when Artista Acadey co-hosts Valerie Montenegro and Mr. Fu danced along the Tropang Kick Out and together with Mr. Pogi Edgar Allan de Guzman. Valerie is totally different now - H.O.T.

Artista Academy also presented the new love teams that will add "kilig" to our TV sets, and they are alos the honor students - Shaira Mae and Mark as SHARK, Akihiro and Chanel as AKINEL and Sophie and Vin as SOVIN.

I like the chemistry ha. May kilig factor nga! ^_^

But the moment that everyone was waiting for was revealed when veteran actor Eddie Garcia and superstar Nora Aunor announced the Best Actor and Best Actress.

Vin and Sophie each won P1 Million cash, a condo unit in Presidio at The Lakefront, Parañaque City from Vista Land, a Toyota Innova, P5 Million minimum guaranteed management contract from TV5 Talent Center, and an artistically designed trophy by renowned sculptor Leeroy New. As Artista Academy winners, they both became Close-Up ambassadors

They will also be given lead roles in an upcoming TV5 teleserye.

TV5 also announced that it will open the next season of Artista Academy for tweens aged 12 to 15 years old in 2013 - so, yeah, you tweener, get ready!
