Standard Chartered Bank’s Nationwide Photography Competition Meet-Up
On it's 140th year, Standard Chartered Bank, the oldest international bank in the Philippines, celebrates its remarkable milestone through a photography contest that strives to capture the timeless essence of the Filipino spirit through a camera's lens,
In an effort to capture the timelessness of the Filipino spirit and the beauty of the Philippines, Standard Chartered Bank invites professional and amateur photographers and even enthusiasts to join this year's celebration with their lenses ready to capture the country's beauty.
There will be two divisions for contestants. The Professional Division is open to photographers who currently receive, or have received payment, for their photographs. And the Enthusiast Division is for hobbyists who have not received any payment for their photographs. Entries must be taken using digital or film-based cameras.
In line with this, a series of FREE Photographer’s Meet-Up will be held in different key cities of the country, where professional and award-winning photographers will impart some professional insights, insider tips and techniques from judges, and understand the makings of an award-winning photo.
The first Photographer’s Meet-Up Cebu Leg will be held this coming Saturday, July 28, 2012, from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. at Gilligans Restaurant, 3rd Level, The Terraces, Ayala Center.
The Davao Leg will be next, which is set on August 4, 2012, from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. The mall venue is yet to be finalized.
The last but not the least, the Manila Leg is set on August 11, 2012, from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. at 2nd Level Pavilion, LRI Design Plaza, Nicanor Garcia St., Bel Air II, Makati City.

The Capturing Timeless Visions competition is divided into three categories:
- Values captures the qualities that make Filipinos a cut above the rest, from the spirit of bayanihan and hard work, to strong family ties and courtesy.
- Heritage honors the Philippines' rich traditions and colorful history
- People celebrates the country's most precious assets, the hardworking, resilient, and cheerful Filipinos themselves.
Contestants for the Capturing Timeless Visions may submit as many entries as they want per category but may only win once. Three of the best entries in the Professional Division will take home P100,000 each, while three winners in the Enthusiast Division will receive P50,000 each. There will also be three runners-up and 20 Juror's Choices selected from each division. The best entries will be auctioned off to charity for the benefit of the Seeing is Believing campaign, the program which aim to address eyesight issues among the youth, while other entries would be donated to museums.
Standard Chartered Bank started accepting entries last July 10 and the deadline of submissions is up til the 1st of September. Hopefuls can send their entries to One Workshop, Inc. at Suite 324 LRI Design Plaza, Nicanor Garcia St., Bel-Air II, Makati City.
