Early Independence Day Celebration at Ayala Triangle Garden

In a few days, the country will be celebrating its 114th Independence Day, and here in Makati City, the leading city in the country, we will do the celebrations a little earlier for everyone to really feel how free and lucky we are! Boys and girls, just like what we are saying here in Makati, City... Make it happen, Make it Makati! :-)

As part of Makati City’s two-day Independence Day Celebration, series of activities await every Juan who will come and join the fun that the city has prepared.

On June 8th, this coming Friday, dubbed as Make it Proud, will be a day of arts and music for the whole Ayala Triangle Gardens, where this two-day festivity will take place. From 5:30 in the afternoon til 8:30 in the evening, three exciting activities will glam up the garden starting with  the ceremonial unveiling of the 50-square meter Art Display of the Philippine Flag. Then followed by another exhibit prepared  by the Filipinas Heritage Library,  the Flight to Progress Exhibit, which will commemorate the 75th anniversary of the Ayala Triangle. The Filipino Heritage Festival has also a Banig Exhibit that will showcase the ingenuity of Pinoys from the different parts of the country. And while of the guests are taking time examining and reading through all those exhibits, special performances from Banda Kawayan and Balagtasayawit will entertain them.

The highlight of this first day celebration will be the Avida's call to help Original Pilipino Music (OPM) comes alive, the Tunog Natin Concert: Himig ng Kalayaan.

This OPM advocacy program “Tunog Natin” is a free concert at the Ayala Triangle Gardens on June 8 at 7 p.m.

Co-presented by Ayala Land’s Strategic Landbank Management Group (SLMG), Tunog Natin: Himig ng Kalayaan brings together six of the most talented OPM artists today namely acoustic artist Princess Velasco, soulful singer Duncan Ramos, gold record artist and Tunog Natin project head Myrus, former Miss Saigon actress Ima Castro, premiere vocalist Bituin Escalante, and singer-composer Noel Cabangon.

Filipino audiences are encouraged to come to the free “Tunog Natin!” concert and bask in the beauty of Original Pilipino Music, as a way not only to preserve its legacy but also to nurture the Filipino soul. Concert-goers are advised to arrive at the Ayala Triangle Gardens before the show starts at 7 in the evening to have a good seat!

On the second day of the celebration, June 9th, Saturday, with the theme Make It Your Family Day, a whole day of activities specially made for families await to those who will come.

Starting at 10 in the morning, activities such Sketch Fest,  Gardening 101 and Habi Exhibit are prepared for families who are into arts and crafts and gardening. There will also be a Face Painting and Storytelling for kids to enjoy. And as for those who wanna learn something unique, Origami, Acting and Voice, and Hand Weaving workshops are arranged. These activities are expected to be finished by 5 in the afternoon.

So, there! This is just a start of a grand Independence Day Celebration in the country. If you know any exciting activities that's coming up in line with this celebration, feel free to share!
