Gabay Guro Celebrates World Teachers’ Day

Let me start this blog by saying “HAPPY WORLD TEACHERS’ DAY” to al the teachers and soon-to-be teachers in the whole wide world.

We may not like all our teachers but I’m sure that we do all have our favourite teacher. And since today is World Teachers’ Day, I think, today is one of those perfect moments right to show our love to them, even in our own little way.

Me, I’m still in contact with my favourite teacher, Miss Valeriano, and I’m planning to text her a simple message telling her how I miss her and hoping to see her very soon. She’ll be celebrating her birthday this month too, so I know that she’ll be surprise if she saw me one of these days in my Alma Mater with my former classmates – her favourite class. *wink-wink*

We’ll be a great surprise to her since the last time we saw each other was last year.

It also happens that I do have some friends who are on the teaching field, so for y’all, Happy Teacher’s Day to you too, guys! Keep it up! I’m nothing but hats off to you.

And with all these, I think our beloved teachers deserve nothing but love, appreciation and support. Thus, PLDT-SMART's Gabay Guro came up with a wonderful gathering for them to chillax and enjoy a day especially made for them.

Dubbed as “Live and Loud”, as early as October 3 at the Music Hall of SM Mall of Asia, a head-banging concert was prepared for all the teachers who were gathered from different parts of the country to enjoy a day of pampering and relaxation with the wonderful funny antics of the comedians and artists invited and enjoy the wonderful local music from some local bands that serenaded them all through the night.

Hosted by Dax and Kim Idol, this tribute concert was also participated by Ruby Rodriguez, Bella Padilla, Rhian Ramos, Jay Durias, True Faith, EB Babes and Vernie Varga. Derek Ramsay and Angelika Panganiban also made an appearance giving the crowd some “kilig” moment.

Gabay Guro is a foundation made to help our teachers all over the country. It has now made bigger with the partnership of Eat Bulaga and Talentadong Pinoy giving thousands of teachers from all over the country an opportunity to enjoy various training programs for free.

And this year, this foundation aims to educate 2,000 teachers nationwide to rekindle the passion that they have for their notable profession.

This is one of those events that left a deep mark in my heart, because I believe that there’s no such thing that can equal the heart-felt passion of these people towards their profession – BEING A TEACHER.
