Oyster Galore at Marina Oysters Seafood Grill

I never knew that oysters can be cooked in a lot of different ways. From what I saw on television, oysters are usually eaten fresh or steamed. I had a traumatizing experience with oyster - steamed oysters that is– so, as much as possible I’m staying away from them to avoid further damages on my tummy.

But when I visited Marina Oyster Seafood Grill and saw their wide selection of oyster dishes, I was amazed and glad to know that it can be eaten in a safer way (safe food = cooked with fire.)

Wow! Now, I don’t have to worry about my tummy that much.

So, if you wanna take a plunge to some oyster galore food trip, here are SOME of Marina Oyster Seafood Grill’s oyster dishes that I can suggest to you.

Baked Oyster

I like baked mussels, and since I thought baked oyster is somehow kinda like baked mussels, I tried this dish first. Surprisingly, I liked! There’s a lot of cheese on top of every shell, so as I sunk my fangs to one of the oysters, the creamy taste of the cheese and the spices on top it blended really well to the kinda icky taste (for me) of the oyster.

Not a bad start, so without any further hesitations, I tried other dishes, plate by plate.

The next oyster dish that I tried, and the one that really caught my attention that night, was the Wasabi Oyster.

Wasabi Oysters

The crispy skin and the matching dip made this oyster dish my favourite that night. The crispy skin balanced the soft oyster inside it giving a little crunch as I bit it. I think I had, like, 10 of this! Or more! Hahaha! It was really delicious. This is a good replacement to the steamed oyster that people usually have when drinking beers or wines. And I think with this cooked (put to fire) dish, I don’t need to worry about upsetting my stomach. Two-thumbs up for this one!

Another oyster dish that I tried, and the dish that I got so curious to taste, was the Sizzling Oysters.

Sizzling Oysters

I know this looks different from the typical sizzling dish that we see in stores, but I’m guaranteeing that this one was good. I didn’t expect that I’d liked it, but I did.

Next one to taste was spiciest of them all – Kinilaw na Oysters.

Kinilaw na Oysters

This is already great by itself but I enjoyed it more with rice. The spiciness of the chill killed the icky smell of the oysters as well as the taste, and made it one pleasant dish that I liked. Though, challenging to eat because of the spiciness, I think there were like thousands of chillies in there, this dish was really terrific. I love how they played the flavour on this one. They brought up the ‘Filipino taste’ that I’m expecting from it.

And the last oyster dish that I bravely tried was none other than the Steamed Oyster.

Steamed Oysters

Though, I only had one, and I made sure that I squeezed some lemon on it, I can say that it was good. Not that bad compared to the one I had before which traumatized me, Marina’s steamed oyster was fairly good. Thank God that it didn’t upset my stomach.

As a bonus, they also offered some KBL (Kadyos, Baboy, Langka), a very popular Ilonggo dish, Buko Pandan and Punch. Yummy!

Four Season Punch

It was my first time to try KBL, and me being a pork and beans hater, thought that it was good. In fact, I had a second serving of this dish. Hehehe.

This oyster galore thingy that I had here made me realize that oysters can now be enjoyed in a more “decent” way. So, thanks to Marina Oyster Seafood Grill for showcasing these wonderful dishes that I’m sure when my friends and family read this blog will surely ask me to take them to the nearest Marina Oyster Seafood Grill to try it.

Eat moderately, guys! Happy eating!
