The 1st Tribeca Football Festival
The summer heat wasn't able to stop these young boys and girls from different football organizations in the country to play, as they were invited by Landco Pacific Corporation to join the exciting and amazing invitational football competition at the 1st Tribeca Football Festival in Muntinlupa City.
Hosted by Landco, the leisure developer behind the Tribeca Private Residences where this 1st Tribeca Football Festival was held last Sunday, 500 kids, boys and girls, ages 12, 10, 8, 6 and under were categorized to different levels to compete on this exciting game of football. Twenty four children’s’ football teams from various schools and football clubs gathered last April 21st on the 7-Aside Football Field to kick and throw balls from 8 in the morning till 5 in the afternoon.
And since Tribeca is also the home of the Chelsea FC Soccer School Philippines, that day's guests made the steamy game more exciting with the appearance of Philippine Football Superstars, James and Phil Younghusband.
Landco Vice President for Sales, Mr. Albert Villa-Real, shared to us that the successful event has a two-fold benefit not only for them, but for the kids and parents who graced this invitational football festival. First, it contributes to the growth of football as a sport in the Philippines, and second, it generates interest in Tribeca Private Residences as a place that is not only safe for children but also conducive to a healthy, active lifestyle.
Mr. Villa-Real also added that the main attraction for the young participants was not only the fun of enjoying this Pinoy's new-loved game, but also giving them and their parents a chance to be with their idols Phil and James.
Despite of the tremendous heat, it was really such a beautiful sight seeing these young boys and girls getting so active out in the sun and playing a game with their fellow kids. And so, after some hours of challenging each team and battling which of the invited teams deserves the attention of the country for they might be the next members of our Philippine Football Team, the Philippines Azkals, the 1st Tribeca Football Festival concluded and together with Landco Corporation, the Younghusband awarded the prizes to the winning teams.
Team A from Loyola Meralco Sparks FC emerged as Champion in the 12-years-old-and-under Category of the first ever Tribeca Football Festival. Schwarz FC took the 1st Place trophy and the Loyola Meralco Sparks FC Team B got the 2nd place. For the 10-and under Category, Loyola Meralco Sparks FC Team B was hailed champion, while Loyola Meralco Sparks FC Team A won 1st Place and Loyola Meralco Sparks FC Team B won the 2nd Place respectively. For the 8-and under, the Corinthian FC took home the Championship trophy, while RAYA FC got the 1st Place and CFCSSPH was placed 2nd. Lastly, for the 6-and under Category, CFC was named the Champion, and the MUFC won the 1st Place and RAYA FC finally got the 2nd Place trophy.
The winning teams from each category received trophies and medals for 3rd, 2nd, and 1st Place.
“When we first conceived of this event, we wanted to see how much support it would get. Well, it has been very successful. And with this development, we are surely considering holding more events like this,” Villa-Real shared.
