The First Taste of LOVE HATE: Keina Suda Unveils "悪夢 Nightmare"

Love turning into hate. Kindness becoming a wound. Pain becoming comfort.
Those contradictions sit at the heart of "悪夢 Nightmare", the new single from Keina Suda and the first glimpse into his upcoming album “LOVE HATE”.

The singer-songwriter, also known to many as Vocaloid producer Balloon, first captured widespread attention with "シャルル Charles", a modern classic whose Vocaloid and self-cover versions have amassed more than 160 million views on YouTube. Now, with "悪夢 Nightmare", he opens the next chapter of his career with a ballad that introduces the emotional world of “LOVE HATE”.

Beginning with a delicate melody before swelling into a dramatic arrangement, "悪夢 Nightmare" gradually intensifies alongside its lyrics. Exploring how love can become hatred, how kindness can wound and how pain can sometimes offer comfort, the song introduces the emotional contradictions that shape the upcoming album.

The music video, directed by Takumi Osera, extends those themes visually. Created around the idea of beauty that emerges precisely because despair cannot be escaped, the video captures a fragile world suspended between loss and acceptance, searching for what remains after everything else has disappeared.

Reflecting on the song, Keina Suda shared:
"It's like kindness turning into thorns.
Love transforming into hatred.
Finding comfort in pain.
This is a song about foolish human beings."

"悪夢 Nightmare" also offers the first glimpse into “LOVE HATE”, Keina Suda's upcoming major third album and his first full-length album in approximately three years.

Scheduled for release on 9 September, the 16-track album brings together some of the defining songs from his recent years, including anime themes "ユートピア Utopia", "ラストルック Last Look" and "ラブル Rubble", drama tie-ins "ユーエンミー You and Me" and "リベラ Libera", fan favourites such as "ミーム meme" and a reinterpreted version of "WOLF" featuring rock band Hitorie, alongside six entirely new songs including "悪夢 Nightmare".

As the first new song unveiled from “LOVE HATE”, "悪夢 Nightmare" provides the clearest indication yet of where Keina Suda's next album is headed. If the record's title suggests a collision between opposing emotions, "悪夢 Nightmare" begins by examining the contradictions that exist within a single person.
