STARGLOW’s “USOTSUKI” Turns Heartbreak into Something you Can’t Shake
Ever wish you could take something back?
STARGLOW taps into that exact feeling with their second single “USOTSUKI”, a bittersweet pop track that pairs a bright, bouncing beat with the lingering regret of a love that can’t be undone.
Written by SKY-HI and produced alongside ZEN, “USOTSUKI” thrives on contrast – a refreshing, upbeat soundscape layered with lyrics that trace the fallout of hurting someone you love, with no way back. Modern details like notifications and screen-mediated distance sharpen that sense of loss, while the repeated line “Take it back” lingers like a thought you can’t shake.
The music video expands this emotional core through the concept of the “butterfly effect,” where even the smallest choice can spiral into an entirely different future. Centered on member ADAM – the only member to join through open auditions – the visual follows a chain of decisions that ultimately converge into STARGLOW’s formation. Picking up from the final scene of their previous release “Green Light”, ADAM peers into a butterfly-shaped opening in search of connection, revealing parallel worlds that slowly begin to collide.
What unfolds is a striking, dark-pop visual with a near painterly edge, building toward a performance under a star-filled sky where all five members finally come together. It captures both the weight of their journey and the clarity of their intent – to stand together, shine as one, and take their music to the world.
Speaking on the release, ADAM shares, “We’ve finally released our second single ‘USOTSUKI’. Despite its refreshing track, it’s a pop love song with lyrics that capture the bittersweet emotions of heartbreak. It’s a song that really fits the feeling of spring, and one I hope people will listen to right now. For us, it’s also a very important track that I believe will become iconic for STARGLOW moving forward. Thinking about the moment we can all sing it together live makes me really excited. I can’t wait for the day we can sing it together. I’d be so happy if you listen to it a lot.”
Marking the release, a series of fan campaigns have been announced, including invitations to talk shows and greeting events in Tokyo and Osaka, alongside signed merchandise giveaways. Additional CD purchase campaigns will offer access to exclusive experiences such as rehearsal viewings, official send-offs, and special event invitations.
Momentum continues to build as STARGLOW line up a packed run of appearances, including ULTRA TEENS FES 2026 at Yoyogi National Stadium on 31 March, a full-day takeover of Nippon Broadcasting on 1 April, a live-streamed release party on YouTube, and their first-ever appearance on TV Asahi’s Music Station DREAM LIVE Spring Special. The group will also kick off their first nationwide fan meeting tour, STARGLOW 1st Fan Meeting -STAR CRUISE-, on 10 April, spanning 17 cities across Japan.
With “USOTSUKI”, STARGLOW turns a single moment into a ripple effect, proving how fast everything can change, and how some things stay with you.
