muque Unleashes Dark Fantasy Thriller “DARK GAME” — Cinematic MV Out Now

Blending trap beats, orchestral tension and eerie visuals, muque’s latest release throws listeners into a night where humans and mythical creatures coexist. With a bold new sound and striking imagery, “DARK GAME” marks the start of muque’s next chapter.

Formed by Asakura (Vo & Gt), takachi (Track Make & Dr), and Kenichi (Gt), the Fukuoka-based three-piece band released their new digital single “DARK GAME” on 4 February, accompanied by a visually arresting music video built around the theme of “Hyakki Yagyō” (Night Parade of One Hundred Demons) – a classic Japanese folklore concept.

Set in a city where humans and mythical beings coexist, the music video presents muque alongside otherworldly figures inspired by Japanese folklore. The dark, cinematic visuals are directed by Ryo Suda, whose previous work includes collaborations with Yojiro Noda, BAD HOP, and kZm.

Following bassist Lenon’s departure at the end of 2025, muque have transitioned into a three-piece formation. “DARK GAME” is their first single under this new lineup – and it signals a clear evolution.

The track opens with dramatic strings colliding with trap-style beats, immediately subverting expectations of muque’s previous sound. Built on a hip-hop foundation with sharp, aggressive sound design, takachi pushes into a new phase as a track maker. Against this tense, thrilling soundscape, Asakura’s vocals grow deeper and more immersive, pulling listeners into the song’s fantasy-tinged world. Beneath the surface, the lyrics hint at themes of control, manipulation and psychological tension, giving the track an edge that feels both cinematic and unsettling.

With its updated sonic approach and fearless experimentation, “DARK GAME” announces the beginning of a bold new era for the band.

muque have also confirmed the release of their second full album “GLHF (Good Luck, Have Fun)” on 15 April. The album title references the gaming slang used to wish opponents well before a match begins. The record (scheduled to include 10 tracks) features songs such as the ending theme for the TV anime ONE PIECE “The 1”, and the rock track “Dancing in my bad life (feat. CLAN QUEEN)”, capturing the band’s current creative direction.

The first-press limited edition will include footage from their sold-out solo concert “MUQUE TOUR 2025 ‘RIDE ON!’ @ Zepp Shinjuku”, allowing fans to relive the energy of the night.
Starting in March, muque will also embark on “muque LIVE TOUR 2026 ‘GLHF’”, covering 14 shows across Japan and 5 shows across Asia, including Bangkok and Singapore. Ticket details for the Asia leg to be announced soon, so stay tuned!

With a darker sound, cinematic storytelling and growing regional presence, muque is stepping confidently into their next phase – and “DARK GAME” is just the beginning.
