Brit-Nominated bbyclose Continues Her Solo Era With, Dream About U

With over 10 million monthly listeners, a Brit Award nomination, a DJ Mag Best of British nod, and the voice behind a half-billion-stream UK Top 5 hit, bbyclose enters 2026 already embedded in global dance culture.

Now she’s stepping further into her own.

On 13th February, bbyclose releases Dream About You, her second solo single via Intercord / Universal and a record that expands the red-coded universe she introduced with ego, continuing the shift from featured voice to author.

As co-writer and vocalist behind Kisses with BL3SS & CamrinWatsin,  a record that dominated UK charts and spent months across European airwaves, bbyclose helped define the emotional tone of a new wave of club-pop.  Collaborations with Sub Focus, FISHER, Felix Jaehn, Marlon Hoffstadt and Alok followed, positioned her as one of the most recognisable and in-demand vocal presences in global electronic music and has since been named one of Tomorrowland’s Top 20 Artists of 2026.

But Dream About U marks a recalibration.

Built around suspended synth textures and a club-conscious pulse, the track captures a specific emotional space, the quiet cinematic moments where possibility feels more real than reality. It is romantic delusion not as fragility, but agency.

“I’m just a girl who spends her entire train journey daydreaming about moments we could have like washing the dishes and falling asleep in front of the TV and walking round the park on a Sunday morning drinking coffee and talking nonsense.

That instinct, to romanticise & to construct internal futures, sits at the centre of the release. It’s not heartbreak. It’s the moment before. The imagined version of intimacy running parallel to late-night dance floors.

Visually and conceptually, bbyclose operates within a tightly defined universe. Red is not branding but language. Sunglasses are not styling but boundary. Obscured identity, exaggerated silhouettes and playful exaggeration function as both aesthetic and shield. In a digital culture built on exposure and confession, she withholds deliberately. Mystery becomes structure.

Sonically, the track continues her hybrid lane: pop instinct underpinned by dance-floor architecture. Glossy but restrained vocals sit against rhythmic propulsion, allowing the record to live comfortably in both club environments and solitary headphone moments.

Having already shaped the sound of global dance records from within, Dream About U continues bbyclose’s move toward full authorship, not a reinvention, but a reframing.

The bbyclose world is playful, feminine, daring and precise. It resists simplification, musically and culturally. In a space where women are often framed as features rather than forces, this release marks a quiet but deliberate shift toward authorship.
