Turn it up: muque & CLAN QUEEN just dropped “Dancing in my bad life”
A collaboration no one saw coming – and exactly the one we needed to end the year with a bang.
muque hits a major milestone with their first-ever featuring track, teaming up with CLAN QUEEN for “Dancing in my bad life” – a collision of raw ambition and livewire intensity from two of the fastest-rising names in Japan’s rock scene.
Fresh off major anime tie-ins and high-impact festival appearances throughout 2025, muque channels that sharpened momentum into a rock track built on urgency, youth, and forward drive. From the opening line “Dancing in my bad life”, which hints at chaos and internal struggle, the song pivots into a rallying cry – “We create the times, now” – crystallising a shared, future-facing ethos between the two bands.
Though muque × CLAN QUEEN might read as an unexpected pairing on paper, the collaboration is rooted in long-standing friendship and mutual respect. The song emerged from a creative back-and-forth between takachi (muque) and AOi (CLAN QUEEN) – the sonic architects behind each group. As the track evolved, a clear vision formed around the idea of a “new era”, expanding into a bold, ambitious rock sound that captures their parallel 2025 rise.
Melody and lyrics were split between the groups, creating vocal parts that collide, blend, and ultimately elevate one another – a fusion that feels instinctive rather than engineered.
Designed with the stage in mind, “Dancing in my bad life” bottles the heat and immediacy of a live performance, delivering a listening experience that feels lifted straight from the front row.
With this release, muque and CLAN QUEEN set the tone for a new wave in Japan’s rock landscape – one fuelled by camaraderie, conviction, and a shared belief in building the future themselves.
