MINH Unveils Debut EP 'THANK GOD! IT DIDN'T WORK OUT
Following a breakout year of performances across Asia, pop singer-songwriter MINH returns with his debut EP, ‘THANK GOD! IT DIDN’T WORK OUT’. The five-track project traces the stages of heartbreak and healing through a deeply personal lens, shaped by experiences that transformed him as both an artist and a person. Fans can stream the EP here.
Arriving alongside the project is MINH’s new single, “Damaged”, a song about realizing that no matter how much healing you think you’ve done, some wounds still ache when touched. MINH wrote the track after experiencing his first heartbreak, when his two-year relationship ended in January 2025. “It completely shattered me,” he recalls. “Losing the person who once made me feel loved and seen destroyed my confidence and left me grieving not just the relationship, but who I was in it”.
In the months that followed, MINH slowly opened himself up to new love and new experiences, only to discover that moving forward was more complicated than he expected. One morning, he woke up next to someone new to the sound of an old alarm labeled “Wake [Ex’s name] up!!!” — a moment that sent a flood of emotions rushing back. “That’s when I realized I wasn’t fully healed yet,” he says. “I felt more guarded, more self-protective, and maybe a little less naive about love”.
Written between Vietnam and Australia, the EP features production from Maribelle (Vetta Borne), Glenn Hopper (Len20), and Michael Choi, with co-writing credits from Cody Jon and Benjamin James. Together, they helped MINH craft the pop sound he had long been searching for — emotional, cinematic, and full of honesty.
“‘THANK GOD! IT DIDN’T WORK OUT’ captures my first heartbreak perfectly in five songs — the darkness, the light, and the healing. They almost resemble the stages of grief,” MINH explains. “This project is a reintroduction for me as an artist. The music feels more confident now that I’ve really lived life. I think people are going to see a more honest, wiser side of me in this project”.
The EP includes “Damaged”, “Out With Grace”, “Thank God!”, “What I Never Had”, and “I Don’t Know” each representing a distinct emotional chapter. “Damaged”, first performed at Zandari Festa in Seoul, moved audiences with its raw vulnerability. “Out With Grace” which MINH has performed to thousands across Taiwan, Singapore, and Korea, became a fan favourite for its euphoric yet bittersweet tone. “Thank God!” marks a creative milestone, written in Vietnam with Australian artist Glenn Hopper; “What I Never Had” emerged during MINH’s writing camp with Concord Australia, co-written with Maribelle. Finally, “I Don’t Know”, a staple in his live shows, continues to stun listeners with its explosive emotion and introspection.
“Writing this project helped me heal from heartbreak,” MINH shares. “I thought I knew what heartbreak felt like, but it’s so much deeper. It’s surprisingly the most painful when it’s calmest — it sneaks up on you in the silence. Going to Australia for my Concord writing camp really changed a lot for me. Meeting Glenn, Maribelle, and Cody allowed me to create the music I’ve always wanted to make”.
Drawing inspiration from pop storytellers like Julia Michaels, Ryan Tedder, Max Martin, and Troye Sivan, MINH shaped ‘THANK GOD! IT DIDN’T WORK OUT’ into a body of work that reflects both his emotional evolution and the electricity of his live performances. Each song carries his signature lyrical candor and melodic confidence, revealing an artist stepping fully into his own.
