Life’s A Game: karanoah Just Leveled Up with “Sugoroku”

Just weeks after making waves with their TV anime tie-in ending theme “BAN ”, karanoah is back, opening a new sonic door with their latest digital single “Sugoroku”.

Pushing the boundaries of their band identity, the track is a high-octane drum’n’bass ride, packed with intricate layers, off-kilter guitar riffs, and tight beats that push listeners forward like a rolling dice, aptly echoing the song’s title, which translates to “board game.”

Vocalist and guitarist Yudai explains: "Sometimes life is messy, chaotic, and unrelenting — but even when we’re battered, we keep rolling the dice, moving forward. ‘Sugoroku’ is my messy, raw reflection of hope, resilience, and finding light in the chaos."

The single’s cover art, designed by nico ito, mirrors this theme with colourful “Sugoroku” game pieces, balancing playful pop energy with a touch of retro melancholy – just like the track itself.

Sugoroku” follows karanoah’s rapid ascent in 2025, building on the success of previous releases including “rei レイ” and their digital EP “Neon Tetra ネオンテトラ”, which featured the drama theme track “aquarium”. Their genre-defying sound, combining rock, pop, and alternative textures, has quickly cemented them as one of Japan’s most exciting next-generation rock bands.

karanoah isn’t just dominating the studio — they bring this energy to the stage. Catch them live at:
