Marking a major milestone in his 16-year career, 'The Art of Surrender' is Sezairi's first fully self-produced record; a culmination of years spent honing his craft, trusting his instincts, and finding peace in vulnerability. Reflecting his growth as a songwriter, producer, and artist in full command of his voice, the record is a sonic and emotional reset: bold yet tender, polished yet raw. More than a new chapter, it embodies the quiet confidence of someone who has learned that letting go can be its own form of strength. Spanning 12 tracks, it unfolds as a journey through vulnerability and renewal, blending cinematic soundscapes, Sezairi's signature warmth, and a newfound intimacy in both sound and storytelling.
Drawing from his roots in R&B, soul, and Nusantara pop, 'The Art of Surrender' is Sezairi's most vulnerable and revealing work to date. Each track captures a moment of emotional release — reflective, tender, and unmistakably human. This album is not about giving up, but about giving in: to love, to uncertainty and to the flow of life itself. It's a meditation on what happens when we stop trying to control the outcome and simply allow ourselves to be imperfect, open, and real.
Leading the project is the focus track "Broken Promise" — a mid-tempo anthem that showcases Sezairi's smooth, serenading vocals against a rich blend of R&B, pop and neo-soul. "This song is about the pain, loss, and disappointment you feel when someone makes a promise and breaks it," he shares.
Showcasing his versatility, the album features songs in both English and Bahasa Indonesia, reflecting Sezairi's deep connection to Southeast Asia's vibrant musical landscape. It also includes songwriting credits from artists such as Nathan Hartono, one of Singapore's most beloved vocalists, and previous collaborator Teddy Adhitya, a rising Indonesian R&B talent celebrated for his soulful voice and boundary-pushing sound.
Now an independent artist under his own label, Sezairi has stepped fully into creative ownership of his work. On establishing Offlane Records, he says: "It felt like a natural evolution for me as an artist and producer to desire more control over the creative process and output, so establishing Offlane Records felt like the next logical step. The name took a while to come up with but we finally settled on a term from our collective favourite game, Dota 2."
With 'The Art of Surrender', Sezairi reaches a pivotal milestone—delivering a bold statement of creative independence and a refined expression of his artistic evolution.
