Through a collection of 17 songs the album explores themes of love, self-discovery, openness, and a refreshed sense of freedom ushering in a bold new chapter for Khalid. Listen HERE.
after the sun goes down is executive produced by ILYA (Ariana Grande, Ed Sheeran, Sam Smith) and includes songs co-written and co-produced by Elvira Anderfjärd and Luka Kloser (Addison Rae), Oscar Gorres (Troye Sivan), Ryan Tedder (Beyoncé, Tate McRae), Rodney Jerkins (Destiny’s Child, Lady Gaga), Julia Michaels (Sabrina Carpenter, Justin Bieber), and Michael Pollack (Miley Cyrus, Maroon 5). It features previously released songs “out of body” and “in plain sight” which Rolling Stone called “infectious” and Billboard said, “The top-tier dance production and casual excellence of Khalid’s vocal help make this “dump his ass” anthem hit that much harder.”
Speaking on the album, Khalid shares, “This is what freedom sounds like. It’s me completely vulnerable, honest, healing and unafraid. I’m proud of who I am, and the love I have to give, and I think there’s power in that. My hope is that my music will help uplift others & be a soundtrack for their journeys.”
