BE:FIRST Shares a Message of Hope in New Single “Under the Same Sky 空”

“It’s going to be okay” — and BE:FIRST’s new single “Under the Same Sky 空” is here to remind you why.

Fresh off their World Tour 2025: Who is BE:FIRST?, the seven-member dance & vocal group returns with “Under the Same Sky 空”, a powerful ballad carrying comfort, courage, and compassion at its core. Following the high-energy release of “GRIT” just two months ago, this latest track shows a softer, soul-stirring side — and it’s already echoing across classrooms and hearts throughout Japan.

Commissioned as the official required piece for the 92nd NHK National School Music Competition (Junior High Division), “Under the Same Sky 空”, is currently airing on NHK’s “Minna no Uta” through June and July. The NHK contest, known as “N-Con”, is Japan’s largest national choral competition, where elementary to high school students from across the country unite through music. Its spirit of youth expression and emotional storytelling mirrors BE:FIRST’s own journey – starting young, pushing through challenges, and rising through hard work and determination.

Written and co-produced by BMSG CEO and BE:FIRST founder SKY-HI, alongside UTA (TinyVoice, Production) and LOAR (INIMI), “Under the Same Sky 空”, delivers a heartfelt message to young people: you’re not alone, and the skies will clear.  The track features a gospel-based sound and intricate chorus arrangement by one of Japan’s top a cappella groups, and is elevated by powerful, skillful vocal performances from each BE:FIRST member — bringing the song’s world to life with emotional depth.

As of June 20, “Under the Same Sky 空” is also being broadcast in over 600 high schools during lunch and after-school hours, paired with a special audio message from the group. It’s more than just a song — it’s a moment of calm in the daily noise, and a reminder to breathe, even when the sky feels heavy.
