Aiobahn +81 and FUWAMOCO Team Up for High-Energy New Track “side by side”
Internet music meets otaku dream collab: genre-bending producer Aiobahn +81 drops his electrifying second single, “side by side (feat. FUWAMOCO)”, as the official ending theme for the newest chapter in the globally beloved bishoujo game series, Nekopara After La Vraie Famille.
Rooted in electronic dance music but steeped in the DNA of anime, game, and denpa culture, “side by side” is a melodic house track laced with shimmering nostalgia, channeling the golden era of bishoujo game theme songs – but with a 2025 energy. Floating atop the airy summer beats are vocals by FUWAMOCO, the twin chaos queens from hololive English whose sweet, airy delivery adds a dreamy texture to the track. The duo – winners of the VTuber of the Year at the 2024 VTuber Awards – boast a fanbase of over 1.1 million YouTube subscribers, and they’re vocal superfans of the Nekopara series itself.
The result is a track as emotional as it is danceable, peppered with playful cat-like chants of “Nya Nya Nya...”, a lyrical nod to the beloved feline cast of Nekopara, which has sold over 6.5 million copies worldwide since its debut. The tie-in goes deeper: the single’s cover artwork is an original, exclusive piece drawn by Sayori, the famed illustrator and creator of Nekopara, featuring Aiobahn +81 and FUWAMOCO together for the first time.
Aiobahn +81 isn’t just a remix – it’s a full-blown reinvention. The moniker is a new identity Aiobahn launched in 2025 to dive headfirst into otaku-centric subcultures: think internet music, denpa, anisong, and game soundtracks, all wrapped in digital maximalism. His debut single “天天天国地獄国 Tententengokujigokugoku (feat. Nanahira and Pmaru-sama”, racked up 9.5 million YouTube views in just four months and cracked the Billboard Heatseekers Chart (No. 10) in May 2025 – proof that his sound is resonating loud and far.
The lyric video for “side by side” evokes the soft-focus sentiment of a 2000s anime ending, complete with appearances by Aiobahn +81, FUWAMOCO, and Nekopara’s fan-favourite catgirls Chocola and Vanilla.
Whether you're a music head, a VTuber stan, or a Nekopara loyalist, this is one collaboration that checks all the boxes: otaku nostalgia, futuristic beats, virtual charisma – and cats.
