Peter $un Serves Up A New Track "Weight On Me" Featuring Buddy
Coming off his debut
performance at Coachella in April, rapper, producer, and singer-songwriter Peter $un (Sunny) announces his next album ‘Rent
Was Due…’ which will arrive on June 13 via Red Bull Records/Mind
of a Genius. In tandem with the news, he released his second single off the
forthcoming project, “Weight On Me” featuring SoCal rapper Buddy.
Following his bouncy March single, “All That I Want” featuring Bay Area rapper Rexx Life Raj, Sunny returns with “Weight On Me” — a breezy anthem built on laid-back rhythms and a hook tailor-made for backyard functions, rooftop parties, and nights that stretch into early mornings.
Reflecting on the creative process, Sunny shares, “Working with Buddy was cool; he brought good vibes to the studio and took the track’s energy to another level. He was so focused in our sessions and that allowed me to be really free in my approach. I just want people to have fun and get excited when this one comes on in the club”.
Adding to the vibe and inspiration behind the track, Buddy says, “This is a song that feels like the moment you build up the confidence to talk to the hot girl that almost got away”.
The release of the track is accompanied by a visualizer that brings the moment to life, with the duo hosting a lively BBQ complete with friends, dancing, and of course, the soundtrack of the summer. Both singles are indicative of Sunny’s time on the West Coast – not only expanding his range as an artist but also cementing his place in the local music scene.
