Connecting Hearts and a Green Future, Da-iCE drops “Sanctuary”

Japanese vocal and dance powerhouse Da-iCE is back with a bold new release: “Sanctuaryサンクチュアリ”, the official theme song for TOKYO GX ACTION CHANGING ~未来を変える脱炭素アクション~, a major initiative driving climate action and carbon neutrality in Tokyo. Set to take place at Tokyo Big Sight on 17 and 18 May, the event now has its emotional and empowering anthem — crafted in collaboration with Yujin Kitagawa of pop-rock duo Yuzu, and written by Da-iCE members Taiki Kudo and Sota Hanamura. Featuring all five vocalists, the track delivers a stirring call to action, blending heartfelt lyrics with Da-iCE’s signature harmonies.

“Sanctuaryサンクチュアリ” encapsulates the mission of the campaign: harnessing the power of music to inspire both individual and collective action toward GX (Green Transformation) and meaningful environmental change. The Tokyo Metropolitan Government’s initiative aims to accelerate the city’s transition from fossil fuels to clean energy, with ambitious goals of achieving carbon half by 2030 and carbon neutrality by 2050. By spotlighting cutting-edge green technologies and promoting sustainable choices, the project empowers citizens to become active participants in shaping a greener future.

On 18 May, Da-iCE will give the live premiere of “Sanctuaryサンクチュアリ” at the TOKYO GX ACTION Special Artist Da-iCE スペシャルLIVE, held in conjunction with the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship “Tokyo E-Prix”. This performance also marks the group’s first musical project centered on environmental themes — an important milestone that reflects the deeper message behind the song.

Through its uplifting melody and empowering message, “Sanctuaryサンクチュアリ” calls listeners to face forward, stay connected, and believe in a future that can be reshaped – by hand, by heart, and by harmony.
