The GoPaint Worldwide Creating Activity
highlights the limitless possibilities for creation on HUAWEI’s professional
yet user-friendly painting tool. The GoPaint App, designed for artists of all
levels, empowers creators to explore countless tools, elevating the digital art
creation experience. The app features comprehensive guides and tutorials from
the China Academy of Art. It utilizes advanced hardware, including a
Professional Brush Engine with Fluid, Splatter, and Dual-effect brushes.
Powered by the FangTian Painting Engine 2.0, the app supports 8K canvases with
up to 500 layers, over 150 brush settings, and 10,000 pressure levels with the
3rd generation HUAWEI M-Pencil.
The upgraded GoPaint App is featured on all HUAWEI tablets, including its latest offering, the HUAWEI MatePad Pro 12.2.” The newest device comes with the industry leading dual OLED PaperMatte Display, transforming users’ digital experience once more. The tablet displays clear and vibrant visuals, with a maximum brightness of 2,000 nits, while sporting eye-friendly properties using advanced anti-sparkle and nanoscale anti-glaring technologies for premium, paper-like experience.
The HUAWEI MatePad Pro 12.2” boasts more than
PC-level experience with productivity apps including the improved HUAWEI Notes
and the PC-level WPS Office apps. The latest HUAWEI tablet also supports the
all-new HUAWEI Glide Keyboard, which features a storage and charging slot for
HUAWEI M-Pencil and other styluses. Placing the stylus in the slot
automatically pairs it to the tablet.
“Technology can both be an instrument and a companion in the creative process and HUAWEI’s GoPaint app is one of the best tools to use for art creation,” said Filipino artist Rudz. He explained that he has used the GoPaint app on the HUAWEI MatePad Pro 12.2” to create some of his pieces. Rudz lauded the HUAWEI’s painting app, saying, “It makes the process of creating art more seamless and allows artists to bring ideas to life effortlessly. With the precision of the HUAWEI M-Pencil and, of course, the HUAWEI MatePad Pro 12.2” making art has never been easier and more satisfying.”

More than a creative challenge, the global movement seeks to serve as a platform for creators to bring their visions to life using the GoPaint App. Supported by a vast network of flagship stores, educational institutions, and online communities from all over the world, the initiative seeks to collect over 10,000 entries from participants across the globe. Participants may submit entries for various categories including Sci-Fi Art, Design & Fashion, Narrative Art, Cutting Edge Paintings, and Digital Watercolor & Ink.
“It’s a great avenue for professional and aspiring artists to challenge themselves and break through creative boundaries,” said Rudz of the global creation initiative. “This can become a launching pad for fresh, dynamic voices in the digital art world.”
Global Recognition Await
Submission of entries is open until December 31, 2024. A selection panel will review the submitted entries for each region and select the top 100 entries. From the top 100, an expert jury panel will select the winning top 20 Honourable Mentions. Members of the jury panel include “The Mandalorian” and “Avatar: Way of the Water” Concept Artist John Park, Renowned Illustrator and Forbes Under 30 (Art and Style) Honoree Victo Ngai, “Avengers: Endgame” Senior Concept Artist Pablo Dominguez, and HUAWEI Milan Aesthetic Research Center Digital Creative Director Marco La Mantia.

The winning entries will also be featured in well-loved apps, such as HUAWEI Themes wallpaper, or on HUAWEI merchandise which will be available to the brand’s global user base. The winners will be announced in 2025, along with an exhibition featuring the winning artworks.
Last year, two artworks from Filipino creatives made it to the Honourable Mention list. Creator Lanz Ambrosio’s entry, called “A Vintage Woman,” featured a woman, with a curious gaze, wearing a flower-embellished hat.
The art style was inspired by a renaissance painting, injected with Ambrosio’s modern flair. The second Filipino-made piece was done by June Digan, titled “Celebrating the Year of the Dragon.” It depicted a heroine, brandishing a pencil, riding a flying dragon. Both artworks were done on the GoPaint App on the HUAWEI MatePad Pro 13.2-inch.”
