Blood Pressure Monitoring All on Your Wrist
“Hypertension is a significant health concern
as it poses major risks for cardiovascular diseases,” emphasized known medical
doctor and content creator, Dr. Lyien Ho. She also reiterated the serious
danger of hypertension when it goes undiagnosed and untreated, stating, “It is
often called a ‘silent killer’ because it may not present noticeable symptoms
until complications arise, making regular monitoring crucial.”
“In the Philippines, hypertension is an urgent public health issue due to its rising prevalence and the associated complications that contribute to morbidity and mortality,” Dr. Ho added. With the prevalence of hypertension and its critical health risks, continuous blood pressure monitoring is not only helpful but increasingly essential for effective health management.
The HUAWEI WATCH D2 allows watch wearers to get an accurate blood pressure reading by simply raising their wrist. Users can set scheduled alerts to remind them to check their blood pressure even upon waking, helping them capture blood pressure data promptly. While users are asleep, the watch automatically checks users’ blood pressure with little to no disturbance, ensuring users get an interrupted sleep.
The ABPM feature is set to measure blood pressure levels every 30 minutes, but users can opt to customize the intervals from 15 to 60 minutes during waking and sleeping hours. The HUAWEI WATCH D2 is designed to adapt to users’ various real-life situations, offering ABPM while users are standing and accurate single blood measurement while sitting down. The watch also measures blood pressure levels even while users are lying down. The recorded data is then made available on the HUAWEI Health App, allowing users to access comprehensive, weekly blood pressure monitoring reports. This summarizes changes in users’ blood pressure levels and the completion status of various tracking goals, and provides recommendations for health management goals.
In a single tap, users can measure 9 vital
health indicators, including heart rate, blood pressure, blood oxygen, stress,
skin temperature, ECG, vascular elasticity, pulse wave arrhythmia, and sleep
apnea detection. The watch then generates a Health Glance report in as quick as 90 seconds. This offers a quicker, more affordable avenue
for users to manage their health compared to clinical check-ups. However, the
watch is a non-medical device that should not replace diagnosis and treatment
from medical professionals.
Beyond blood pressure monitoring, the HUAWEI WATCH D2 also offers a Beat-by-Beat ECG Analysis, which features enhanced electrode technology that makes ECG collection more accurate and responsive. Users simply have to touch the electrode on the side for about 30 seconds to get precise, real-time heart health data. The watch also has Pulse Wave Arrhythmia Analysis, powered by the Super-Sensing Module for timely alerts on any heartbeat irregularity.

The watch features an improved heart rate monitor that adjusts measurement frequency based on activity levels. The stress management feature on the watch provides breathing exercises to help users maintain emotional balance, while the skin temperature monitoring feature helps in detecting risks related to a raised temperature.
Available in black and gold, the watch exudes sophistication, making it the perfect wrist accessory for either a formal, business look, or a casual, everyday ensemble. The lightweight and compact design of the watch makes health monitoring more convenient. Whether users are out traveling, or sitting in a meeting, the watch easily tracks health indicators with a simple lift of the wrist.
The watch is equipped with over 80 sport modes, including running, cycling, walking, and mountain climbing, as well as automatic detection of 6 common activities. It features accurate workout data with GNSS positioning and data-driven evaluations to ensure every workout counts. The watch’s Sleep Mode helps users unwind with white noise, natural soundscapes, and relaxing music, for a more restful sleep every night. The watch also supports comprehensive Sleep Monitoring, which keeps tabs on vital health indicators, such as heart rate, SpO2, respiratory rate, and sleep breathing patterns while users are deep asleep. Users can then wake up and check the recorded data and insights on the HUAWEI Health App.
