#AlexReviews: OPPO A3: The Smartphone You Need for Outdoors

For someone who loves staying outdoors and adoring the beauty of nature and whatnot, you’ll probably notice that these people prefer to have stuff or gadgets that could stand the test of time. Whether it’s cold or hot, up in the mountains or bumming by the beach, having a reliable tool or gadget is an utmost importance by now.

Recently, I was asked to review the latest smartphone from OPPO – the OPPO A3. Though I must admit that I’m kind of not sure what to expect given that it’s an entry-level phone, OPPO A3 provided me with basic features that I need - and probably more – as it highlights its durability, longer-lasting battery and upgraded SoC, that I find suited for people who prefer no-fuss on their phones.

Built Like an Army
I got a chance to take this OPPO A3 on my recent trip to Puerto Princesa, though this trip was not as exhilarating and challenging, I got to test the durability and strength of this latest OPPO A Series given the following circumstances: Typhoon Enteng is ravaging the central part of the Philippines; we spent a day touring three islands in Palawan; I have to use this phone while enjoying and exploring these islands.

Joined by some tourists, our tour went quite well that day. We were given enough time to take photos and videos on each island as well as dip and enjoy the white-sand beach of Palawan. It wasn’t a sun-shiny trip, and drizzles of rain came pouring from time to time. With OPPO A3 on my hand, protected by its free silicon case, I managed to snap some shots of the island and food that we had, as well as some portrait pictures that I found okay for its given specification.

I intentionally and accidentally dropped it a few times on the beach, and thankfully, its Military-Grade Shock Resistance feature has proven its worth. OPPO A3 remained smooth and with no signs of dents. I even tried digging It down under the sand, not even a single dirt made it look nasty or overused. Take note, the color variant that I have is Starlight White. Other variants are Sparkle Black and Starry Purple, which I find perfect for girls! Hehe.

Since it’s raining most of the time, OPPO A3’s Multiple Liquid Resistance came in handy as well making it efficient and still working perfectly even with wet hands.

OPPO A3 is equipped with Snapdragon® 6s 4G Gen 1, so when it comes to functionality, you can easily switch features and modes without lag.

Portrait Shot Using OPPO A3

During our trip, I didn’t have to worry about switching the mode of my OPPO A3 from camera, video, or even checking my shots. I can easily navigate from each window and even connect it to a Bluetooth remote that lets me take selfies and “stolen shots” like a real stolen shot.

I was able to test it as well for online games, and though it wasn’t as impressive as the higher styles, the OPPO A3 offers a manageable expectation that could provide you with efficiency and entertainment at the same time.

The OPPO A3 comes with 50MP Ultra-Clear rear camera, which is perfect for adventures and outdoor activities. My only wish probably was I hope that the portrait mode of the camera could also be used on its rear cameras. Since I like bokeh effect on my pictures, I believe that the Portrait Mode of cameras is the best tool for that.

OPPO A3 runs on the latest ColorOS 14, which provides me a fluent and lag-free experience.
 
Lasts Like Forever 
For that whole day of the trip, I was surprised to see that my OPPO A3 battery didn’t even spend that much power. Truly, with its 5,100mAh Large battery, it offers a powerful capacity that is perfect for adventurers and outdoor people like me, which I believe could also offer great time to gamers and online streamers.
