Bigger and Grander Gateway Art Fair set for September 26 to 29
One of the most anticipated art and culture
events is making a comeback this September!
This year, the Gateway Art Fair, managed by
the Gateway Gallery of the J. Amado Araneta Foundation (JAAF), the social arm
of Araneta City, is returning bigger and better with 30 participating
exhibitors, offering more than 1,000 pieces of art to connoisseurs and
enthusiasts alike. Happening this September 26 to 29 at the Quantum Skyview of
Gateway Mall 2 in Araneta City, the Gateway Art Fair aims to highlight the best
of Filipino artistry.
“The Gateway Art Fair is now in its third year
and it brings together the largest number of artists, art groups, and art
galleries under one roof to showcase the best of Filipino visual art. And as we
mark this significant milestone, we are proud to invite everyone to come to
this art fair to see Filipino talent and excellence in full display,” Diane
Romero, JAAF Executive Director said.
The theme of this year’s Gateway Art Fair is
“Live Your Art,” a call to art patrons, art lovers, and the public to celebrate
contemporary art.
“The Gateway Art Fair aims to embolden our art
patrons to collect the art they desire and encourage artists to create the art
they choose. We also encourage art lovers to support the artists they enjoy and
love, while inviting the public to celebrate Filipino art,” Romero said.
The first Gateway Art Fair was held in 2022
with just 12 participating art groups. Last year, this grew to 16 art exhibits,
participation from five art schools, and four trade booths.
In its third year, the Gateway Art Fair
promises to be even grander than its previous iterations. Additionally, the
Gateway Art Fair will continue to push forward the important work of JAAF and
will serve as fundraising activity for the foundation’s art and culture
activities.
“By taking part in this year’s Gateway Art
Fair, not only will you enjoy outstanding art pieces and have the opportunity
to take home works by your favorite artists, but you will also be making a
difference in the lives of others through JAAF,” Romero concluded.
