Japanese voice actress/idol hybrid group i☆Ris release their 25th single ‘Ai for you! / Kibou no Hana wo’ on Wednesday, June 12, 2024. The music video for ‘Ai for you!’ has also been released, ahead of the single release; the track is the theme song for the anime feature film ‘i☆Ris the Movie - Full Energy!! -’, which is currently crushing in theaters across Japan. Check out the awesome music video, which was filmed with a crowd of real-life i☆Ris fans. ‘Kibou no Hana wo’ is also available on streaming services, and features as an insert song in the film.

The music video for ‘Ai for you!’ from i☆Ris’ 25th single ‘Ai for you! / Kibou no Hana wo’ is now available on the official i☆Ris YouTube channel, released ahead of the single’s release on June 12. The song is the sixth installment in the group’s series of “full-power collaborations”, part of the ‘i☆Ris 10th→NEXT Kimi to Isshoni “Full Energy!!”’ campaign that aims to build excitement among fans for the animated movie. The song was composed by Masayoshi Oishi, a writer and artist much loved in the anime song world. It is also the first time that all members of i☆Ris have contributed to writing the lyrics, resulting in an emotional song bursting with love for their fans.
In the music video, the group members are each shown individually, surrounded by iris flowers, before spotlights light up a stage filled with all the immersion of a live concert, as the members perform a dance together. The audience in the video is made up of real i☆Ris fans, who wave glow sticks and cheer on the group just like at a real show, bringing the song to life. The lyrics sing about living life as an idol, and true to their word, the members of i☆Ris are currently enjoying an incredible 12th year in their activities as voice actresses and an idol group. As the fifth entry in the aforementioned series of “full-power collaborations”, the song was produced by Kenta Matsukuma, whose work with BiSH and Atarashii Gakko! has brought a twist of rock to the idol world.
This song carries a positive message about overcoming challenges and finding hope for the future, boasting a dramatic and energetic sound. The lyrics to the chorus, which translate roughly as “No matter how exhausting and tough things get, we won’t stop singing,” are something that only i☆Ris, with their 12 years of activity, can deliver.
