Pru Life UK Wins 2024 Gold Quill Award for Local Initiatives Commemorating Prudential’s 175-year legacy

Befitting of its legacy of excellence, leading life insurer Pru Life UK was conferred the prestigious Gold Quill Award for its outstanding local initiatives celebrating Prudential’s 175th anniversary. Awarded under the Communication Skills - Special and Experiential Events category, this recognition affirms Pru Life UK’s continuous pursuit of effective corporate communications strategies that contribute to fulfilling our mission to be the most trusted partners and protectors of Filipino families.


Prudential plc, Pru Life UK’s parent company, marked a significant milestone last year by celebrating its 175 years of service globally, including 100 years in Asia. Pru Life UK, also celebrating its 27th anniversary, joined the festivities with a year-long campaign commemorating Prudential’s rich history and heritage. Carrying a unified theme of “Celebrating Life”, the campaign recognized Prudential’s pivotal role in safeguarding the future of millions of Families for this generation and generations to come.

Backed by over 42,000 digitally empowered agency force, the largest in the industry, Pru Life UK set out comprehensive initiatives providing Filipino families with customer-centric solutions, helping them become healthier and wealthier.

175 years of celebrating life
The company bannered the campaign by showcasing its commitment and gratitude to the community with PRUBabies, which offered 175,000 free vouchers of PRUMedCare – Select Infectious Diseases coverage for newborns from 7 days to 11 months old, helping parents protect their newborns against the cost of getting sick from any of the covered four infectious diseases – Dengue, Typhoid, Measles and Malaria.
 
Pru Life UK held the country’s biggest cycling festival which gathered 5,000 cycling enthusiasts and families with PRURide Philippines. A total of 175 bikes were also donated to the Cebuano communities through JCI Zugbuana.
 
Celebrating Prudential's legacy, Pru Life UK hosted a Thanksgiving event in partnership with the British Embassy, bringing together PRUPremier clients, executives, and financial advisors.
Further paying tribute to Prudential’s British beginnings, Pru Life UK rewarded a loyal customer and three of her family members with an all-expense-paid trip to London. Apart from cultural exploration and culinary discoveries, the participants were treated to a once in a lifetime opportunity of visiting Prudential’s former headquarters at Holborn Bars where they were joined by Pru Life UK representatives and the Prudential team to celebrate its 175th year.
 
Pru Life UK also utilized the campaign to reinforce brand leadership, by initiating 175 stories of PRULove. This internal communications campaign ignited a powerful exchange of PRULove stories, allowing everyone to take part in the celebration.
 
These local initiatives were designed to celebrate Prudential’s rich heritage and express gratitude to Pru Life UK’s customers, employees, and agency workforce.
 
The Gold Quill Awards is the premier program of the International Association of Business Communicators (IABC), recognizing and fostering excellence in the field of business communication for more than 40 years now.
