signifying a collaborative effort to bolster regional development. |
During the event, Mayor Dahlia A. Loyola and
Cavite 5th district Rep. Roy Loyola affirmed that the new city hall is the
start of an extensive infrastructure development project that would transform
the city into a vital economic hub in southern Metro Manila.
The occasion similarly marked the intensified
partnership between the LGU and property development firms SM Prime Holdings,
Inc. (SM Prime) and SM Development Corporation (SMDC).
Both companies are involved in the building of
the new city hall and the township that will rise around it called Carmona
International City (CIC).
Mayor Loyola shared her optimism about the
collaboration's impact on the city's future: "This partnership signifies
unity and vibrancy within our community. It showcases the harmonious synergy
between the LGU, SMDC, and SM Prime in fostering inclusive growth."
Jose Mari Banzon, President of SMDC,
likewise said that this collaboration marks the beginning of a journey toward
accelerated growth and development in the region.
"This partnership marks a significant
turning point in Carmona's development journey and reaffirms our commitment to
fostering growth in areas with exceptional potential. We are thrilled to bring
our expertise and resources to the table, working in close partnership with
Carmona City to help realize its vision of becoming a thriving urban
center," said Banzon.
Carmona
as a Prime Growth Area
SM Prime and SMDC's recognition of Carmona as
a promising area emphasizes its development potential. Situated strategically
between the country's capital and the industrial and residential centers of the
South, Carmona possesses key attributes conducive to growth. Its proximity to
major infrastructure, a youthful and well-educated population, and
business-friendly policies position it favorably to attract both local and
international investments.
The CIC aims to address the needs of a growing
population while prioritizing health, safety, and convenience. It seeks to
enhance the overall quality of life for the community, emphasizing a holistic
approach to urban planning.
As a core component of this transformative
partnership, SMDC will actively participate in the design and construction of
the city hall's facade. Situated at the heart of CIC, the new city hall will be
a three-story building with roof deck, envisioned with rising symmetrical
vertical structures in concrete earth tones that convey grounding, stability,
and dependability, while its abundance of glass windows and doors will also
lend modernity.
According to SMDC, their involvement extends
to overseeing the overall aesthetics and functionality, ensuring a structure
fitting for a first class metropolis.
Paving
the Way for a Bright Future
As Carmona City anticipates a promising
future, these milestone events lay the foundation for further SM Prime and SMDC
developments that will raise living standards, create more growth opportunities
for residents, and contribute to Carmona City's emergence as a model of
sustainable urban development in the region.
"This project is a dream-turned-reality
for Carmona, and it would not be possible without the remarkable generosity of
SM Prime and SMDC. It has always been our
dream to provide our citizens with the best facilities, and this partnership is
definitely the attainment of that ambition," said Congressman Roy M.
Loyola.
