Allianz Holds Global Sustainability Training Program
Global
insurance leader Allianz continues to strengthen its commitment to
sustainability by empowering its employees and developing them into champions
for the cause through the Allianz Sustainability Training program. The online
program was launched worldwide on September 19.
The program
was created by the Allianz Global Sustainability Team, together with its
colleagues from AZ Consulting and AZU. As one of the companies at the forefront
of sustainability, the goal of the program is to align with EU Legislation and
other regulators on sustainability integration and transform employees of the
Allianz Group into ambassadors of the advocacy.
The training
program is hosted by AZU and is currently accessible through Degreed in 5
different languages: English, German, Italian, French, and Spanish. It is a
voluntary program with a certificate of completion and no participation fees,
and is available to all Allianz employees around the world, including the
Philippines.
“The Allianz
Sustainability Training program is a very exciting new project launched by the
Allianz Group in the hopes that every single one of us under the Allianz umbrella
has the same, clear vision when it comes to sustainability,” said Allianz PNB
Life Chief Marketing Officer and Head of Sustainability, Gino Riola. “It’s
something we at Allianz PNB Life have been thrilled to implement, in
conjunction with our already existing sustainability initiatives here in the
country.”
Allianz PNB
Life has spearheaded many sustainability projects over the past few years. One
of its newest insurance products, Allianz Protect, allows policyholders to
donate a portion of their premiums to the World Wide Fund for Nature
Philippines’ (WWF-PH) Food Shed Farming Enterprise project. Recently, members
of management, employees, and Life Changers, together with the company’s
banking partner Philippine National Bank (PNB), participated in a tree-planting
event at the La Mesa Nature Reserve. Additionally, the company is set to reopen
its BikeYard facility in Bonifacio Global City, Taguig, as part of its
sustainable transport campaign, RideSafe.
Expected
learning outcomes from the Sustainability Training program include a unified
understanding among Allianz employees about what sustainability is and its
significance in the lives of others, how sustainability fits into Allianz’s
purpose of securing the future, and how the group aims to create social impact
by tackling climate change and integrating sustainability in business
operations.
Moreover,
employees should also be able to apply what they have learned in their own
personal and professional activities, adapting a sustainable lifestyle and
embodying what it means to truly advocate for sustainability.
“I believe
this is a great way to empower our employees. Not only will it enable them to
grow into competent professionals that are well-versed on the importance of
sustainability, they will also develop the necessary skills to help educate
others,” said Allianz PNB Life President and CEO, Alexander Grenz. “I think
that will be incredibly beneficial in furthering the Allianz Group’s goal of
securing the future for the generations to come.”
