Pink Casket, Haunted Room and Death Care Week

It’s not every day that you’ll let your alive and breathing self be placed inside a casket – a pink one – and have the thought of what will you leave to your loved ones when the “time” comes.

Last weekend, along with some competitive and achiever bloggers, I got to experience for the first time the three things that most Filipinos are afraid off – casket, haunted room and death. Special thanks to St. Peter Life Plan, Inc. – one of the country’s leading pre-need death care company that offers affordable traditional memorial life plans to all segments of society – I had an eye-opening and fulfilled weekend full of firsts.

Tied-up with Breakout Philippines, the country's first and premier escape room game, St. Peter Life Plan want everyone to experience one of a kind thrill starting October 1 to November 6. Guests with St. Peter Life Plan can get Php100 off on their fee by presenting St. Peter Life Plan employee or sales agent ID, Planholders Identification Card (PHIC) or your signed St. Peter Life Plan Contract when booking the following rooms: Boogeyman and Sleep No More Room at SM North EDSA branch, Corpse Bride Room at Greenbelt 5 branch, Clownhouse Room at Katipunan branch and at their Hide and Seek Room at their Paragon Plaza branch.

Last Saturday was my first time to try this kind of activity here in Manila. Thankfully, I was with a great company of friends, so in just 30 minutes and 16 seconds, we managed to escape their Hide and Seek Room at their Paragon Plaza branch in Mandaluong City.

This activity is in connection to their celebration of 10th St. Peter DeathCare Week, which is a major Corporate Social Responsibility and Public Service Program of St. Peter Chapels. This program aims to promote awareness on DeathCare planning and preparation. It is also their way of joining the entire nation in commemorating All Saints' and All Souls' days (UNDAS), which are traditionally honored events for Filipinos.

The St. Peter DeathCare Week starts on October 27 and culminates on November 2 - All Souls' Day each year, which is also the anniversary date of St. Peter. In line with this celebration, St. Peter prepared the following for consumer’s appreciation:

PINK CASKET DISPLAYS
Standing Pink Casket replicas will be displayed at the St. Peter Tents in selected cemeteries nationwide during the St. Peter DeathCare Week. Cemetery-goers and passersby can take photos inside the pink casket and enjoy this unique and free photo opportunity with their loved ones and friends.

FREE PINK TRICYCLE RIDES
Again, as part of our public service offerings this Undas, we have commissioned tricycle drivers in selected areas nationwide to offer free tricycle rides for commuters going to the cemetery on October 31 and November 1, 2017. We have painted the tricycles in color pink, to keep the spirit light in the midst of Undas traffic. The Pink Tricycles are available in Bicol Memorial Park, Marilao Catholic Cemetery, Tuguegarao Public Cemetary, Catholic Cemetery, Holy Family Cemetery, Rizal Memorial Park, Holy Garden, Everest Hill Memorial Park, Laoag Public Cemetery, Manila North Cemetery, Love Memorial Park and El Reposo Cemetery.

ST. PETER PINK TENTS
St. Peter Tents will put up Pink Tents in selected cemeteries nationwide to assist our fellow Filipinos who will be traditionally spending their evenings at the cemeteries from October 31 to November 1, 2017. They will also provide free hand fans and umbrellas as giveaways to cemetery goers who will take a picture on their Pink Casket and avail of our products during this period.

THANKSGIVING MASS
In lieu of their anniversary, St. Peter will have a Eucharistic Celebration on October 29, 2017 (Sunday) at the Talitha Kum Healing Mass on TV which will be aired 8:00AM in PTV4 (formely NBN 4). It will be attended by employees, plan holders and officers of St. Peter.
