LINE goes Bigger and Better

Though it may only a few months ago since it was officially released here in the Philippines, the mobile messaging app LINE is happy to announce its 460% growth in user in its annual business conference in Tokyo, Japan dubbed as "Hello, Friends in Tokyo 2013."


Headed by its Executive and Chief Strategy & Marketing Officer Mr. June Masuda, LINE Corporation, which is now on its second year has achieved 230 million registered users worldwide, representing a 460% growth over the last year. The number of messages sent daily through LINE has also increased by 440% from the previous year and surpassed 7 billion.


During the conference at MAIHAMA Amphitheater (Urayasu City, Chiba Prefecture), Mr. Matsuda also shared the upcoming services and features to be expected from LINE corporation, such as the Video Call feature, which is to be launched globally in the last quarter of 2013; the LINE Music, which is to be launched in Japan this 2013; LINE Mall, which is set to be launched also in fall 2013 in Japan; more exciting LINE Games, which are to be released starting in the last quarter of 2013; and lastly, the LINE Web Store, which is scheduled to be launched in September in Japan and in Taiwan, respectively.


In the Philippines, with an instant warm reception from the tech savvy Filipinos, LINE’s exponentially growth when it launched its newest and first localized television commercial, starring Matteo Guidicelli and Jessy Mendiola has made a great impact not only to the competing apps but to the entire country. Both Matteo and Jessy are active through their Official Accounts, as well as other local artists like the rapper Abra and other MCA Music and Ivory Music artists.


LINE is still aiming to achieve 300 million users worldwide within this year, and promises to continue enhancing their services and contents and promote its global development in order to become an integral piece of lifestyle infrastructure for users all around the globe.
