Si Amapola sa 65 Kabanata Book Launch

Last Sunday's Ricky Lee's book launch was I guess the most attended and most star-studded book launch I've been too. And of course, where there are stars, I must be there! CHARING! Hahaha!

It was an afternoon of excitement, laughter and realization (to some) when everyone got a hold of the most anticipated 2nd novel of Ricky Lee, Si Amapola sa 65 Limang Kabanata.

I'm a fan of Mr. Ricky Lee since then, and I believe one way or another, we are all fans of Ricky Lee, some just don't know it yet. Hehe.

Anyways, last Sunday's book launch, which was held at the Skydome of SM North EDSA was was attended by respected and upcoming stars of our country who shared their precious time to some excerpts of the book. Hosted by Aiai delas Alas and Eugene Domingo, excerpts from the book were read by Paulo Avelino, who read the lines of Amapola, a gay-turned "manananggal".

There's also Mart Ecudero, who rendered his part so great that the audience really applauded him.

Then, there's Cherrie Pie Picache who read the parts of Giselle.

TV and Movie Director Joel Lamangan also shed some love to Ricky as he read some of the excerpts, building the tension to everyone's emotion.

An intermission number took place with Dulce singing Andres Bonifacio's poem "Pag-ibig sa Tinubuang Lupa," which plays a vital role in the movie. Super panalo!

Eugene and Aiai proved that they are not just good artists in front of the camera, with their punchlines that made the crowd laughed so hard, no wonder these two were reigned Box Office Queens. :-)

Jon Santos stole the spotlight with him appearing on the stage as Oprah. And with her costume and accent, and some political satire, he is indeed THE JON SANTOS that we all love! Hahaha!

And the part that he read was just perfect! I LOVE IT! It is now my favorite part of the book. :-)
So, you should buy a copy of this book too!

After that heart-warming part, another intermission number took place. And this time, one song dedicated to Amapola was sung by Pupil, headed by Ely Buendia.

Star-studded, right? Wait til you see who's next! Haha!

Martin del Rosario, to my surprise, also gave an outstanding gay impersonation, making the whole Skydome delighted with his gay-ish reading. Nice!

Joem Bascon calmed down the excitement as he read an interesting part of the book. I never thought that he could be this good at book reading, really. Hehe.

But when the power-couple Judy Ann Santos and Ryan Agoncillo appeared on stage, everyone can't help but to be sooo fanatic! Judy Ann looks so beautiful and vibrant, while Ryan looks so dashing and cute! Juday and Ryan forever!! Woohoo! :-P Yes, I'm a fan of these two. Hehe.

And to end the book reading session, a friend to Ricky Lee, ABS-CBN's big boss, Charo Santos-Concio read the last part of the book.

This book launch is also a mini-reunion since I saw some familiar faces whom I believe are Ricky Lee fans too. There's my online friend Richard, who's a big "Para Kay B" lover and also two of my favorite college professors, Ma'am Luds and Ma'am Neriz, looking younger and fresher. ^_^

Nice to see you guys!

Thanks too to my office mate-friend, Danica, for joining me on this book launch, and to my super-friend Danilo, for giving me a chance to see this book launch! Hugs!

Si Amapola sa 65 Kabanata Book is Php300.00 and now available at your favorite bookstores, so grab your copy now and I'm sure that you'll never get disappointed. I'm still reading it, and enjoying every chapter of it. :-)

Thank you ang congratulations, Ricky Lee.

And as what Charo Santos-Concio said, it is my honor too to be born on Ricky Lee era.

Mabuhay ang manunulat na Pilipino!
