Mr. Valera who was known to fashion industry through his transformation of the typical “terno” to a sophisticated glamorous styled gowns, which were hailed by the high society in and around the world back in the ‘60s.
And last October 12, fashion aficionados paid tribute to the wonderful works of Mr. Valera as Greenbelt 5 was transformed into that era where some of the remaining and outstanding gowns made by Mr. Valera were on display – for that day only.
Present at the said event were Mr. Valera’s most favourite client Representative Imelda Romualdez-Marcos, who reminisced the days where she was so proud flaunting the astonishing designs of Mr. Valera.

Here are the photos of the talk. On stage were Valera ’s niece Peching Zulueta-Gomez, fashion designer Aureo Alonzo and National Museum of the Philippine’s curator Nick Legazpi, Jr.
The fashion show was composed of women wearing ‘60s hair and makeup, which was made by Piandre, and the almost two dozens of Freeway Valero Collection.
A short photo-op was held with the models and Rep. Marcos, then, Miss Tessa requested for small chit-chat with the former First Lady.
In was a night of history, beads and glam for fashion – even Miss Tessa’s lashes had some beads. Hehe. Cool!
And since 'twas a very rare occasion to see and meet these fashion icons, I took the plunge and had a picture taken with them.
