#AlexCooks: Bounty Fresh Top ToriBurger in Curry Sauce

A few days ago, I received a sweet, sweet package from our friends in Bounty Fresh. Not that I’m expecting too much, but I was surprised to received a bountiful bag full of two whole chicken - one Premium and one Young & Tender, plus two packages of Top ToriBurger - one Classic Mayo and one Cheese & Chives.

It’s been a while since I prepared and cooked a decent meal for myself - either I’m too lazy to do it or since I’m mostly out during the weekend. So, last night, coming home straight from the gym, I felt a hunger I cannot tame. With some ingredients I stored at home and high-quality products that I just received, I prepared the chopping board, heated up the pan, and ready myself for some late night cooking.

Ingredients:

  • 2 pieces Bounty Fresh Top ToriBurger Cheese & Chives
  • 1 cup steamed rice
  • 1 cup Fresh coconut juice
  • 1 pack curry sauce (from the grocery)
  • 1 piece potato (cut into wedge)
  • 1 medium-sized sliced onion
  • 2 cloves of minced garlic
  • 1 stalk of spring onions (for garnishing)
  • 1 hard-boiled egg (optional)
  • Salt
  • Pepper

Directions:

  1. Deep-fry the 2 pieces Bounty Fresh Top ToriBurger Cheese & Chives for 2-3 minutes. Since it’s already breaded, preparing this one is so easy. Set aside after cooking.
  2. In another cooking pot, boil water with egg for 5 to 7 minutes. Once the egg and water cool down, take off the egg, peel off the skin, then set it aside.
  3. In a sauce pan, saute garlic and onion. After a minute or two, mix in the Curry Paste. Mix these ingredients well til the onions and garlic absorb the flavor and color of the curry. Let it set for a minute until you pour in the coconut milk.
  4. Let the coconut milk boil first before you add the potatoes. Making the potatoes soften may take 5 to 7 minutes, so I suggest to have extra coconut milk just in case you don’t want a slightly thick curry sauce.
  5. Add a pinch or salt and pepper or until you achieve your desired taste.
  6. Once the potatoes are soft and ready, turn-off the stove.
  7. In a nice bowl, place the steamed rice, top it with the sliced Bounty Fresh Top ToriBurger Cheese & Chives and sliced hard boiled egg.
  8. Pour in some curry sauce on top of it and some potatoes.
  9. Lastly, garnished it with spring onions for some color and beauty.

This meal serves 1 to 2 persons, depending on your appetite, I ate it all. Haha!

What I like about the Bounty Fresh Top ToriBurger Cheese & Chives is that since it is already breaded and flavored, preparing it is so easy and cooks in no time. If you are really hungry and just want to have it deep-fried, it’s really okay. The meat is tender despite of keeping in it the fridge for some days. I chose Cheese and Chives because I really like the idea of cheese and curry. I think it’s a really good combination.

The Bounty Fresh Top ToriBurger is ideal for burgers, of course, but if you want to try something different like what I did, this one is really perfect for those Japanese kind of set meals.
