Review: ASUS Zenbook 14: Compact Laptop with Screenpad

When was the last time you got amazed by a gadget? With so many things sprouting here and there sharing modern advancement in this world, what’s the latest gadget you would consider worth your time, energy and hard-earned money? Have you heard of the latest ASUS Zenbook 14?

Since its inception, Zenbook has always been one of the lightest and most elegant laptop you could find in the market. Though, I’m really careful with my gadgets, most specially with brandnew ones like this ASUS Zenbook 14, I can feel how superior and well-built this handy gadget is. With a dimension of 31.9 cm by 19.9 cm by 1.69 cm, the Zenbook 14 only weighs 1.26kg and fits perfectly well to an at least 13-inch satchel – just like my bag!

Design Highlights
The compact appearance of the latest ASUS Zenbook is definitely a scene-stealer, but underneath this flashy, sophisticated look and solid frames are more captivating design features that will surely love even more.


The latest ASUS Zenbook takes pride of its NanoEdge display, which allows a much more screen size. The Zenbook 14 is slightly smaller than the A4-size paper, which is an ideal size for both corporate and non-corporate world. Then, there’s the revolutionary ScreenPad 2.0, which is an upgrade from the traditional laptop experience. This serves as a secondary screen that enhances productivity while using or playing with it.

It’s my first time to actually have a double-screen laptop, and though it may take me sometime to fully grasp the convenience that this gives, I’m amazed how “smart-looking,” and how ASUS utilized this compact gadget up to its maximum capability.


This ScreenPad is glass-covered for fingerprint and smudge resistance and possesses Precision touchpad (PTP) technology, which support up to four-finger smart gestures.
Aside from those, ASUS Zenbook also boasts on its advanced Infrared Camera, which has the see-in-the-dark capabilities that enables fast, reliable hands-free face login with Windows Hello – even in dim environments. 


With these Zenbook, also comes the ErgoLift Hinge, which give much more comfort to its users. An exclusive feature to ASUS Zenbook, the ErgoLift hinge is an engineering masterpiece designed to automatically tilt the keyboard to the most comfortable typing position, which also improves cooling and audio performance.

It is said that these latest Zenbook series are built to deliver unbounded on-the-go performance, featuring the 8th Generation Intel Core i7 quad-core CPU, up to GeForece  250 MX, 16GB RAM, ultrafast PCIe SSDs and gigabit-class Wi-Fi.


Users of this latest series can choose between Windows 10 Pro or Windows Home Operating System, and powered by 50Wh 3-cell lithium-polymer battery that can give 14 hours battery life.

ASUS Zenbook uses ASUS SonicMaster stereo audio system, certified by Harman Kardon Array microphone with Cortana and Alexa voice-recognition support.
