Taking New Adventures, Running to Give

This year is all about “Moving On” for me. I started letting go of the things, events and people that don’t spark joy. Not that I’m angry or bitter, but I just want to be surrounded by beautiful, positive energy. This is making me feel a lot better about myself, and I think, I’d be keeping it this way.

This new chapter in my life does not only brought me to a more fulfilling life, but also to a more challenging new adventures. Last June, I took a week off from work to fulfill one of my childhood dreams, to trek in one of our country’s picturesque sights, the Batad Rice Terraces.

I traveled alone from Manila to Benguet for this craaaazy adventure, but boy, up to now, I can’t believe that I conquered this dream and turned this childhood frustration into one of my greatest achievements as a solo traveler. It was that fulfilling.

Recently, these new new adventures has brought me back to the green city of Clark in Pampanga, where I joined the Run To Give 2019 of Clark Marriott Hotel. I must admit that though, I’m running at the gym, I haven’t run outdoor in a while. Plus the fact that I registered myself on a 5K run, this is a challenge, I set to break again.

So, on a steamy Friday afternoon, I headed north to Clark, and stayed at the five-star facility of Clark Marriott Hotel. This was my second time to check-in in here, and I’m glad that even after a year of operation, the hotel managed to keep its inviting ambiance.

Since the run’s call time is set at 4am, I just relaxed in my room and saved the energy for tomorrow’s run. I’m must admit that I’m afraid at first, one, because I might not be able to wake up on time, and two, I might slip or fall during the run, which may lead me to not finishing the 5K run that I signed up for.

But everything went smoothly. That beautiful Saturday morning was meant to happen, and thankfully, I was able to finish my run in exactly 40 minutes - my target time for this run.

I’d like to acknowledge Clark Marriott Hotel and its run partner for an organized event. Local runners, hotel staff and the executive teams of Clark and Manila Marriott are also present that morning making the event more festive and joyous.

I’d like to applaud the runners that morning for being so cooperative by keeping the whole running lanes - 3K, 5K and 10K - out of trash and peaceful.

At the end of the run, all runners received a wooden medal, while the 10K finisher for a finisher’s shirt. The first three runners in the categories, got some prizes from The hotel management, while two lucky participants also went home with special prizes - the youngest and the oldest runners.

The event also made bond with some friends from Clark, RJ Atlas and RJ Joie of UFM105.5, as well as some friends from Manila, online power-couple, Chuckie and Yen Dreyfus. Thanks guys for letting me hangout with you.

Thank you and Kudos, Clark Marriott Hotel, on your successful Run to Give 2019. And congratulations on your 1st year anniversary! May you have more years to count!
